Cayetano Blasts De Lima for Malicious Accusations

Office of the Senator
Alan Peter S. Cayetano
Rm. 602 GSIS Complex Senate of the Philippines Roxas Blvd Pasay City

PRESS RELEASE

Cayetano blasts De Lima for malicious accusations vs SAP Bong Go

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano today lambasted Senator Leila De Lima for maliciously accusing Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go of allegedly asking the head of the Philippine National Police to reinstate Supt. Marvin Marcos and his group to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 8.

Cayetano said De Lima should instead face allegations that she herself is involved in the illegal drug trade.

"Senator De Lima seems to be resorting to squid tactics as a strategy to get the attention away from the accusations in which she herself is involved," Cayetano said.

"Instead of facing allegations of her involvement in the illegal drug trade, Sen. De Lima found it more fitting to file a case against the President of the country. Now, she is targeting Special Assistant to the President Sec. Bong Go with baseless accusations," he added.

Cayetano hit De Lima for targeting the administration and making assumptions based only on pure hearsay. He called on the senator to refrain from deflecting the real issue and instead face allegations thrown against her head on.

"Secretary Go is a professional, he doesn't insert his own agenda in his professional duties. He is a soldier who follows his commander-in-chief's directives. He should not be dragged in controversy especially when there is no clear proof," Cayetano said.

"These new intrigues are merely part of Senator De Lima's and her shadowy allies' plan to replace the President with their own," the senator further claimed.

Cayetano meanwhile expressed his unrelenting support for the Duterte administration's ongoing campaign against illegal drugs, saying he would continue to assist the President in cleansing the government of rogue officials trying to get in the way of their fight for more genuine reforms and real change.

"The President has started the war against illegal drugs, and is committed to clean our government of narco politicians and other drug protectors. But many people are still trying to cover the truth through different cloaks of disguise. We will not allow them to win," Cayetano said. #

Inmate Colangco to Testify vs De Lima in House's Bilibid Drug Probe

Convicted robber and drug dealer Herbert “Ampang” Colangco is one of the high profile inmates that will testify against Senator Leila de Lima in the Congressional inquiry next week on the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country’s major prison facility, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said Friday.
Colangco is one of the names in the drug matrix presented by President Rodrigo Duterte as among the convicts inside the Maximum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) who still managed to continue operations despite incarceration. Also in the matrix is De Lima, her former driver Ronnie Dayan and another drug convict Peter Co.
Colangco also managed to shoot music videos inside prison and donated millions to the Bilibid hospital. He, along with 18 other high profile inmates were moved to the National Bureau of Investigtion (NBI) in late 2014 after authorities discovered that they were living a posh lifestyle inside Bilibid. From NBI, they were moved to Bilibid’s Building 14, a highly secured facility separate from the Maximum Security Compound.
“There are 10 to 12 high profile inmates that will testify kasama si Colangco dun (Colangco is one of them),” Aguirre said.
“They have agreed to testify,” he said but pointed out that there are no concessions or agreement in exchange for their testimony.
Aside from the high profile inmates, Aguirre said a former NBI director and NBI agents will testify against De Lima. CDG

DAVAO CITY—The war is not yet over.
“I will investigate you.”
This was presumptive President-elect Rodrigo Duterte stern response to Senator-elect Leila De Lima.
De Lima earlier vowed that she will be keeping an eye on Duterte most especially for his shoot-to-kill order against suspected criminals.
“Shabu (inside the Bilibid Prisons) started in her time. Siya magbantay sa akin,” Duterte said.
Shabu is layman’s term for methamphetamine hydrochloride.
Duterte shared that he already approached De Lima to remind her that there is a bigger problem that must be immediately addressed.
“I called her attention when she criticized me after the senate hearing. Instead of zeroing in the real culprit ako na binantayan niya,” Duterte said.
Duterte had a word war with De Lima after the tough talking mayor threatened to kill alleged rice smuggler Davidson Bangayan during a Senate hearing in 2014.
“I will dig deep. In response to that, ‘hoy iha wag mo akong masyado pakialaman sa bunganga ko you better look at your own backyard. Shabu is being cooked inside your premises in Bilibid,” Duterte said.
Duterte said that it even took seven months for De Lima to start going inside the Bilibid Jail after he tipped her to do something about it.
“It took you seven months to go inside Bilibid. I will investigate you,” Duterte said. TVJ
