Let's Dream Harder... Let's Work Harder!

Dreams are foams? Maybe. Maybe not. Long time ago ago Confucius

said: "The one who steals our dreams brings us death!"

Series of images or thoughts in the mind of a person asleep, the idle fancy, the vision, the aspiration, the yearnings - are dreams that have interested, puzzled and frightened people for thousands of years. All kinds of strange  explanations  have been written and published about dreams. Interpreters of dreams have published innumerable books about dreams. I even bought some of these books. I caught myself reading them and analyzing my dreams, in becoming unsure and sometimes really undecided about the many different explanations regarding the same dreams'  meaning.
Today  it is believed that the dreamer himself creates his dreams; and, because are something a personal creating, they may have a special meaning for the dreamer. Just, why should one have a dream when one may depend on many things. Your health may have an affection on your dreams. If a Person is hungry or feels cold, of he is very tired, the dreams may include these feelings.

Living as an expatriate in the Philippines and just arriving "home" after several journeys, I do still dream of many things. Blue-eyed, as I am and as I might remain, I keep on dreaming of a better world (in the Philippines!) without ignorance, and arrogance in our daily surroundings at home and / or our working/business places and stations. I keep on dreaming of honest (foreign?) expat/Filipino friends, who don't turn their back if we need them.

I keep on dreaming that the "typical Pinoy" stop dreaming leaving this counry and working abroad may change into another "bad" (?) dream.

Off to The Adventure Caraga

The capital is Butuan City. Languages speaken: Surigaonon, Cebuano, Butuanon, Manobo and others.

Caraga is an administrative region of the Philippines, on the northeastern portion of Mindanao. It is indeed the newest region in the Philippines, and called Region XIII. It is bounded on the north by the Bohol Sea; on the south by the provinces of Davao, Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental of Region XI; on the west by Bukidnon (also one of my favourite Mindanao areas!) and Misamis Oriental of Region X; and on the east by the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

When in Mindanao, please drop by Caraga. You will enjoy as well as I did.

Designer Silverio Anglacer From Davao City

We met some day in the past somehow (?) in Facebook - Silverio, the great Davao designer and me.

Last week we found time to meet each other personally, and yes, I got a lot of questions for him.

I learned a lot from Silverio Anglacer... .

He is not very interested in politics (no wonder, why?), but is depended on a very good environment around him, which not only means intact nature, but also family and friends.

"I can only exist in a healthy environment and keep myself being creative in my doings as designer!"

A little mixed and conflicting atmosphere remained, when I asked him about media and religion. I must confessed, we experienced the same opinion, when it comes to Philippine TV. And, praying the whole day and night might be good. Living a Christian life with all its consequences might be much better,

Silverio, an amazing personality, someone between being very talkative and in his very own style silent and lonely. A typical artist, who started designing and drawing some time at the age of 5, 6 or so  in the 1980s together (or because of ) with the unique and amazing support of his both parents.

Silverio, a pet loving designer, who decided to live and stay in the Philippines, although having had the chance to stay some time abroad.

"I became a fashion designer because of my passion since childhood! I always liked to draw and have been interesting in any kinds of make ups - even for my mother!"

Silverio, a really unique fashion designer, who has no favourite colours.

"Look at the birds! And, I think, each colour works for each person. It's just a matter how to post them!"

Silverio has many idols: Valentino, Jil Santer, and the German Karl Lagerfeld.

Silverio loves any kinds of sea foods and think, that social networking in general (like Facebook) can be very important for business and very rare relation- and friendships.

I enjoyed talking with Silverio very much.

Silverio Anglacer, a Davao based and Davao loving fashion designer with an incredible source of ideas - not only for the high society - but also "for you and me".

Newly Graduates in The Philippines

Congratulations and Salute to all new gratitudes in the Philippines!

(Personal: on this photo at the right is my niece Neneng Balcom, now being a civil engineer and having a job already...!)

But reality looks very different:

PNA Manila reports, that the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz commented its tripartite partners - including labors and employers - for joining hands to provide over 30,000 job opportunities during the job and livelihood fairs that will be conducted in the National Capital Region and in 15 other regions in celebration of Labor Day on May 1.

The labor and employment chief said that Labor Day, in honor of the nation's workers, will be celebrated on May 1 on the theme "Matuwid na Daan Tungo sa Kaunlaran Para sa Lahat"!

"The job and livelihood fairs show our renewed national commitment to the righteous governance,anti-corruption, and anti-poverty focus of the Aquino III administration!" Baldoz said.

A lot of DOLE jobs fairs will provide many more opportunities to graduates and job seekers, i.e. in Cordillera Administration Region - SM Baguio, SM Naga City Region 6 (Western Visayas), and SM Davao, Gaisano Mall for Region XI, such to mention a few. Get more information from your local DOLE office.
