By: Anne PasajolINQUIRER.net / 10:07 AM January 21, 2025

A photo of KC Concepcion taken by celebrity photographer Mark Nicdao was exported to the United States as it is now part of the Getty Museum collection.

Concepcion shared Nicdao’s feat as well as her photo through her Instagram page on Monday, Jan. 20.

“I’ve always known Mark Nicdao was destined for greatness, but where he is now is all him: raw talent, vision, relentless hard work, and the mind (and heart!) of a genius,” she began.

“I’m beyond honored to share that a photograph of mine from 2008, captured by my dear friend and creative visionary Mark Nicdao—and wearing Puey Quiñones—has been acquired (along with his other incredible works) by none other than the iconic Getty,” she stated.

Concepcion then looked back on her friendship with Nicdao, gushing over being a part of the latter’s recent milestone.

“Mark and I have been through so many creative adventures, and seeing his extraordinary talent celebrated at this level is so inspiring,” she said.

Addressing Nicdao, she continued, “I’m so proud of you and so grateful to be part of YOUR moment. Here’s to timeless art, enduring friendships, and the magic that comes from chasing dreams. Marky, here’s to many more pursuits together. Always your biggest fan.”

Nicdao, for his part, showed a certificate from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts allowing him to export his printed photographs to the US.

Celeste Cortesi appears unbothered as she laughed off the “hate” over her “what just happened” remark on the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 winners.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 titleholder was earlier at the receiving end of criticism for tweeting “What just happened?” after the winner announcement at this year’s Miss Universe Philippines finals night.

Netizens were quick to react and presumed that Cortesi was questioning titleholder Chelsea Manalo’s win, although the Filipino-Italian beauty queen later clarified that it was not what she meant.

Through her Instagram Stories on Thursday, May 23, Cortesi then showed herself enjoying her vacation in Bali, adding the caption: “When the haters hate you. [Charot]” alongside two laughing face emoji.

In a separate video, Cortesi and her companions were also seen alluding to the matter and apparently poking fun at it.

“Babe, what just happened?” one of them asked, to which Cortesi replied, “I have no idea what just happened. I am in Bali, guys!”

Cortesi, nonetheless, reshared her statement clarifying her reaction to the MUPH winners in a succeeding post.

“Let’s all relax and have a drink, char. Peace and love,” she added.

Aside from Manalo, other delegates who were crowned at the recent finals night were Tarah Valencia of Baguio as Miss Supranational Philippines; Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga as Miss Charm Philippines; Alexie Mae Brooks from Iloilo City as Miss Eco International Philippines; and Ma. Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province as Miss Cosmo Philippines.

Cainta’s Stacey Gabriel and Taguig’s Christi Lynn McGarry, meanwhile, were named 1st and 4th runners-up, respectively.

Sharon Cuneta reminds fans: Money amounts to nothing if we’re unhealthy

By: Anne Pasajol

INQUIRER.net / 11:13 AM March 01, 2024

Sharon Cuneta recalled how she shifted to a healthier lifestyle when she turned 50, saying this decision “changed” her life and improved her well-being.

The Megastar, who has been vocal about her health ordeals, underscored the importance of prioritizing one’s health, through a vlog on her YouTube channel on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

“I lost weight when I decided I really wanted to change my life and my outlook on health, and improve the way I live every day,” she said.

The veteran actress-singer then spoke about how the COVID-19 pandemic served as a “wake-up call” not just for her but for the public as well.

“It showed us the reality of the old saying na gamit na gamit na pero totoo, ‘yung ‘health is wealth,” she stated. “Because kahit nga naman ano ang pag-aari mo, kahit gaano ka kayaman o kaligaya sa buhay mo, kung hindi okay ang health mo or you don’t make it a priority, it amounts to nothing—everything na meron tayo—if we’re unhealthy.”

(It showed us the reality of the old and very common saying: “Health is wealth.” Because whatever you own, however rich or happy you are with your life, if you don’t have good health or if you don’t make it a priority, it amounts to nothing—everything that we own—if we’re unhealthy.)

Opening up more on her realizations during the pandemic, she continued, “Sabi nila, most health conditions are caused by stress so you have to be careful about that.”

“Finding this out really made me appreciate that I thought of shifting to a healthier lifestyle. I was 50 when I made that decision,” she looked back. “I wanted to create a better version of myself and that was exactly eight years ago.”

Cuneta earlier appealed for prayers as she disclosed that some aspects of her body’s condition had worsened, and that she had to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

In her most recent health update, she revealed she has been undergoing physical therapy because her leg has been in pain and that she has been limping for more than a month.
