Toni Fowler on removing her breast implants: 'Araw-araw ang bigat ng dala ko'

By Carissa Alcantara

Published Aug 3, 2026 11:33 am

Content creator Toni Fowler, who is also known as Mommy Oni, took a major step recently, deciding to remove her breast implants after 10 years.

In her recent vlog, Toni showed the journey of her surgery and recovery, giving her followers an honest glimpse into why she ultimately felt it was time to part ways with the implants that had become a defining part of her image throughout her years as a content creator.

According to Toni, she did not have her breast implants removed back in May—even though they were due for replacement—because she wanted to first celebrate their "ten years of relevance" in her career as a content creator.

"Inuna ko muna 'yung ten years of relevance na celebration ko with the ToRo family. Inuna ko muna 'yung mga trabaho ko, 'yung mga dapat kong tapusin, bago talaga ako magpa-opera," She said.

Toni went through the surgery with the help of Celebrity plastic surgeon Doc Yappy.

Having implants for the longest time, Toni admitted that she was always curious about what she would look like if she were flat-chested.

"Buong buhay ko, hindi ko talaga na-experience ang maging flat kaya talagang naging fantasy ko talaga na maging flat. Ewan ko, eh kasi di ba, ganu’n naman ‘yung buhay, kung anong wala sa ‘yo ‘yun ‘yung gusto mong ma-experience. Gusto kong maging flat talaga," she added.

She also spoke about the physical discomfort she had lived with over the years. "Kasi ang hirap na rin sa araw-araw ng buhay ko na palaging ang bigat-bigat ng dala ko...ang hirap...kaya it's about time na tanggalin na ang nagpapa-kuba kay Toni Fowler."

Toni also gave a heartfelt shoutout to her partner, Vince Flores, who stayed by her side throughout the surgery and recovery, as well as her daughter, Tyronia, who helped care for her after she was discharged from the hospital.

"Sobrang ma-swerte ko talaga sa mag-ama ko kasi binabantayan nila ako. Actually, tandem sila pero mas grabe 'yung sacrifice ni Vince. Halos wala na siyang tulog, pinapakain niya ako palagi, at syempre may sinusunod kaming oras ng gamot. Grabe talaga 'yung pag-aalaga niya sa akin mula noon hanggang ngayon," she said.

Toni’s son, Tyrone, also stopped by later in the vlog to check on her as she recovered from surgery. After removing the gauge, Toni and Vince were both shocked upon seeing the result of the surgery.

"Grabe sobrang gaan," Toni said, while Vince remarked, "Nakakapanibago."

Embracing the change, Vince assured that his feelings towards Toni haven't changed.

Meanwhile, Toni couldn't help but get emotional as she finally achieved her dream chest.

"Nung nakita ko...sa salamin, parang bigla akong nalungkot. Pero masaya ako at the same time.

In addition to having her implants removed, Toni also underwent  breast reduction. She shared that she already had a fuller natural chest before getting implants, so she opted for a modest reduction to achieve the look she had always wanted.

Tessa Prieto reveals she has found new love: 'We understand each other'

Published Aug 2, 2026 11:34 am
TV personality and socialite Tessa Prieto shared how she found a new chance at happiness with her new partner.
Tessa first talked about her partner, Irene Nubla, in July during an interview with Julius Babao on his YouTube channel.
During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda", Tessa shared that she had once given up on finding love again after the painful end of her previous relationship.
"Parang I did," she said when asked if she had become afraid of loving again. "With the last one, after I got all that abuse, sabi ko 'ayoko na ng girl'... I'm just going to get a little dog," she added.
Just when Tessa thought she was not meant to love again, things took a turn when she met Irene in church.
"Three days later, my new partner came into my life. Sa simbahan. And then hindi ko alam na she's lesbian," she said.
Tessa recalled the moment she saw Irene, describing what she was wearing at the time.
"I was praying after. Then I saw my partner now, her name's Irene. And she's like, you know, she’s like a super crisp shirt. Tapos grabeng earrings. Naka-clip pa. And Hermes sandals. ‘Yun pala she liked me. I'm so likable," Tessa jokingly shared.    According to her, their conversation was simple, Irene mentioning that they had a mutual friend before taking a photo.
"We just met in church... May anak pa siya. That's why I feel that finally, [I have] somebody [that] I don't have to justify to my parents and to myself. I said like, you know, times have changed na rin," Tessa said.
Just like any new relationship, some fights cannot be unseen, but according to Tessa, they eventually learned to understand each other's differences.
"Of course in the beginning, we were constantly fighting kasi we're just opposite. Parang she's very money-driven [sa] negosyo, and I'm like love, love love. And so again, I'm too much, right? This time around, if I'm too much, give me more. So, she gives me more. Thank you so much. We understand each other. We are now finally accepting of our traumas [with] our exes and everything. Now, we have so much love and respect," she said.

Being a well-known socialite, Boy asked Tessa how Irene is keeping up with her being constantly in the public's gaze.
"I think she enjoys it na rin. She has zero social media. So when people say that she's the one, she's okay na," Tessa said.
For Tessa, the relationship is special because they complement each other in many ways.
"Feeling ko, finally, somebody is able to match my energy in everything, financially [and] emotionally... She accepts my family first and foremost, that's so important for me. My family accepts her."
Before finding love again, Tessa went through a painful breakup with a same-sex partner, which actually led to legal disputes, including a pending VAWC case and an estafa complaint.
She was also married to businessman Dennis Valdes for 26 years before filing for annulment in 2025.

Lea Salonga to be honored as icon at the 2026 Metro Manila International Film Festival

Published Jul 5, 2026 01:50 pm
The Metro Manila International Film Festival will honor Lea Salonga with the Icon Award during its closing night gala on Sept. 6 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Lisa Lew, Executive Producer of the MIFF, said in a statement:
"From sweeping major theater awards to voicing classic Disney heroines and starring on screens across both the U.S. and the Philippines, she is the ultimate ambassador for Filipino excellence. The Manila International Film Festival is proud to champion Lea's achievements through our Hollywood Walk of Fame nomination, and we look forward to celebrating her legacy with our Icon Award at the Closing Night Gala."

It was also the MIFF that nominated Lea for the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She is now set to become the first Filipino born and raised in the Philippines to receive a star on the historic site.
In a previous interview, Lea admitted the idea still feels surreal for her.
"I still don't believe that it happened. At first, I thought somebody was pranking me, kasi it's something that I didn't expect, that I would get kasi most of my work is in New York and Manila because I'm not exactly a Hollywood person. But I'm happy that it's going to happen," she said.
Other artists with Filipino roots who have received a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame:  Bruno Mars (2016), apl.de.ap (2016), and Rob Schneider (2011).

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has picked popular girl group BINI as their newest ambassadors.

The group, composed of Jhoanna, Maloi, Stacey, Sheena, Gwen, Aiah, Colet, and Mikha, together with Star Magic head Lauren Dyogi, paid a courtesy call to Tourism Secretary Maria Bernardita “Dita” Angara-Mathay in Makati, recently.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Mathay praised the girl group.

She said, “I am so happy. They have so many ideas. Sometimes the young people can direct a whole generation, a whole bureaucracy to go a certain direction, which will connect with the larger population. They are delightful and talented people."

Meanwhile, BINI leader Jhoanna Robles related how excited they are to share ideas with DOT.

"Sobrang dami namin gusto i-suggest. Mag-meeting muna kami. 'Yan ang special sa BINI. We are from eight different provinces. Nasimulan na namin before, and now we are grateful we have the support of the government. Mas malaki na,” Jhoanna said.

The DOT noted that BINI has long been championing Philippine tourism through their work.

"They are ambassadors already with what they are doing, what they are wearing, with the traditional outfits. It would be amiss for the government if we do not recognize the pride,” Assistant Secretary Ren Sapitan said.

Aside from BINI, the DOT also hopes to work with SB19, Alex Eala, and other Filipinos who have proudly represented the country globally.

Rina Andrea Delos Santos of Ballesteros, Cagayan, was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2026 during the pageant's coronation night held at the Cultural Center in Malitbog, Bukidnon, on Saturday, June 27.

Delos Santos bested 31 other candidates to win the coveted crown under this year's theme, "Love in Action."

Aside from the title, she also received the Miss Hana special award.

During the Top 5 question-and-answer round, Delos Santos was asked, "People often remember what a queen says, but even more, they remember what she does. In the spirit of love and action, how would you honor the responsibility that comes with the crown?"

She answered:

"As a community tour guide, I'm not just ready for the crown, but I am ready for the environmental and global responsibility that comes with it. I guide it every single day in working towards putting the Philippines in a position that is not just a model for sustainability and environmental stewardship, but also a destination of beauty.

"And for me, that exactly what is love in action. Remember, love changes nothing unless it moves, and when it moves, it truly changes everything. Thank you."

Although Miss Philippines Earth 2025 Joy Barcoma was unable to make her final walk and formally pass on the crown, reigning Miss Earth Natalie Puskinova, who flew in from the Czech Republic, took part in the coronation ceremony.

The pageant also crowned its Elemental Queens.

Prima Joy Alamban of Tumauini, Isabela, was named Miss Philippines-Air, while Alyssa Mildred Villariña of Mandaluyong City won the Miss Philippines-Water title.

Patricia Anne Nichole Bangug of Agoo, La Union, was crowned Miss Philippines-Fire, while Roveelaine Eve Castillo of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, was named Miss Philippines-Ecotourism.

Content creator Awra Briguela is pushing back against derogatory and allegedly transphobic remarks made by an individual reported to be a professor at the Universidad de Manila.

The issue began after the supposed teacher allegedly posted a malicious comment on Awra’s social media post, sparking online backlash.

Awra then addressed the matter on social media, publicly calling out the professor and stressing the responsibility of educators to uphold professionalism and respect.

“As a professor, you are expected to uphold professionalism, respect, and basic human decency. Educators should serve as role models and create safe spaces for students, not contribute to online bullying, humiliation, and discrimination. What he did was completely unacceptable and disappointing coming from someone in a position of authority,” Awra wrote.

Following her statement, Awra also met with officials from the Universidad de Manila and the Youth Development and Welfare Bureau to formally raise her concerns.

Awra shared a photo from her visit to the office, explaining her decision to speak up.

“I chose to speak up and take action because what happened was not just a simple misunderstanding,” she said.

She added, “It was discrimination, and staying silent about it would only allow this kind of behavior to continue.”

Awra stressed that her goal was accountability not only for herself, but for other students who may have faced similar treatment.

“I wanted accountability, not only for myself, but also for every student who has experienced the same treatment, or even worse, and felt too afraid to speak out,” she said.

She also emphasized that schools should be safe spaces for all students.

“No student should ever feel humiliated, invalidated, or discriminated against inside an institution that is supposed to be a safe space for learning and growth,” Awra said.

Calling for responsibility from educators, she added: “This is not normal, and it should never be normalized especially when it comes from people who are expected to guide, educate, and protect students.”

Awra thanked the Youth Development and Welfare Bureau and university officials for their response.

“I am deeply thankful to the Youth Development and Welfare Bureau for listening, acknowledging this issue, and extending their assistance,” she said.

“I also want to thank the School President of Universidad de Manila for taking this matter seriously and allowing conversations about accountability and inclusivity to happen.”

She clarified that her action was not about conflict but advocacy.

“This step was never about creating drama or conflict. It was about standing up for myself, my dignity, and for those who still do not have the courage, platform, or voice to defend themselves,” she said.

Awra ended with a message for others facing similar situations:

“I hope this becomes a reminder that discrimination in any form has consequences, and that every student deserves respect regardless of gender identity, expression, or appearance.”

“Education should be a place of safety, respect, and equality never fear, shame, or discrimination.”

“And to those who have experienced the same situation, or even worse, please know that your voice matters too.”

“Feel free to directly raise your concerns and complaints to the Office of the President. The President is all ears and willing to listen to every student who seeks justice, accountability, and a safe environment within the university.”

Elisia Parmisano turns K-pop dream into reality with UNIS

It all started with a dream: making people happy.
Now, 17-year-old Filipina Elisia Parmisano is doing exactly that as part of a K-pop group representing Pinoy talent on the international stage.
During an intimate media gathering last May 2 in Quezon City, Elisia recalls the moment she decided to pursue her goal.
“I started in Philippine showbiz when I was 7 or 8 years old. Siguro around 11, I began getting interested in K-pop. That led me to train in Korea at 13—and now I’m here,” Elisia said, recalling her journey to becoming a member of UNIS.
Going into rigorous training, Elisia was able to adjust quickly thanks to the support of the other members of the group. “In Korea, the culture teaches us to focus purely on our craft," she noted.
Elisia feels no pressure carrying Filipino pride on stage as K-pop Idol.
"Instead of pressure, I feel pride as a Pinoy. I still carry that responsibility, na I have to do good in the name of my country. With all of my achievements, it comes with the Filipino name po talaga," she said.
Two years in with UNIS, Elisia said they are all happy with what they have achieved so far as a group.
"Being with UNIS for two years, super happy po kami po talaga kami as a group. Even though at first we had this different cultural stuff, we were able to adjust to that," she shared.

Bridging the gap between two distinct entertainment worlds requires talent and a deep cultural understanding. Elisia’s ability to navigate her career in English, Filipino, and Korean allows her to connect authentically with a global audience. This trilingual fluency serves as her primary tool for storytelling, ensuring that the Filipino heart remains with her.
“There is a certain charming point po when it comes to our friendliness and our pakikisama po sa tao in general. We would never go unnoticed, I think, when it comes to being in the entertainment scene in another country. In a good way, we're a different breed; we're always so happy, we're always so bright. There's a certain charming point po talaga.” Elisia added.
She recalls practicing facial expressions in the mirror, inspired by the screen presence of Marian Rivera and the vocal prowess of Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. These influences, alongside the journey of her cousin, HORI7ON’s Marcus, have shaped her belief that performance is about soulful connection rather than just hitting the right notes.
“Siyempre Filipino tayo, we're always singing. Whenever I sing in karaoke, my family would always say, " You sing with feelings, you sing with your heart, not just with your voice. You put yourself into the song, so when it comes to the recording of songs, or interpreting the meaning or the message of the songs, Tina-try ko po talaga to give my all."
UNIS is an eight-member girl group under F&F Entertainment. They were formed through the SBS show Universe Ticket and debuted in March 2024 with their mini album "We UNIS."
The K-pop group held its first fan meet in the Philippines last October 2024 at the New Frontier Theater.

She captioned it, "I ♥ 2NE1."
The trio posed closely together, showcasing coordinated black-and-white ensembles accented by bold silver accessories, a style long associated with the group’s signature image

While the photos seemed warm, friendly, fans couldn't help but notice the absence of fellow 2NE1 member, Park Bom.
"I’m happy to see you, my girls, but I want to see you with all members,” one netizen said.
“As much as I love Bommie, I will support a trio 2ne1 comeback too if Bom would not be able to give her 100% and join promotions,” another Instagram user commented.
Prior, Park Bom made headlines accusing Sandara Park of drug use, which she strongly denied.
More than a month after making the allegations, Park Bom issued an apology, praising CL, Minzy, and Sandara Park and expressing hope that the controversy could be put behind them.

Lovi Poe, 'Game of Thrones' star Maisie Williams unite for thriller 'Ignition'

By Carissa Alcantara

Published May 5, 2026 12:11 pm

After making her Hollywood debut in "Bad Man," Lovi Poe is set to appear in another international project. She will star alongside Maisie Williams in the thriller film "Ignition."

Poe shared the good news to fans via Instagram.

"'Ignition's' first look is out now—being introduced at Cannes this May. Can’t wait," she wrote. "Oh, and by the way… the North remembers. Had to bring a little 'Game of Thrones' energy," Lovi wrote.

According to a report by Variety, the film will be directed by Emmy-nominated director James Erskine.

The story follows Sylvie Johnson, played by Williams. What begins as a simple drive to London quickly turns into a nightmare when she receives a call from an unknown person who claims there is a bomb in her car. With no way to escape or ask for help, Sylvie is forced to simply follow instructions. She must deliver the bomb to the Royal Albert Hall. As the situation becomes more dangerous, she tries to survive while uncovering why she was chosen.

Also joining the cast is Rory Kinnear, known for his roles in the James Bond film series.

Erskine said the film was shot using a “live cinema” style. This method aims to make scenes feel more real and immediate.

"I wanted the audience to feel completely inside Sylvie’s experience as events unfold, capturing a sense of immediacy and psychological pressure that builds in real time. It creates the ideal platform for Maisie Williams’s extraordinary central performance," James explained.

Because filming took place in real locations and on active roads, the team used hidden, remotely controlled cameras. This allowed the actors to move freely and perform more naturally, without a visible film crew around them.

All hail the new Filipina queen!

After months of rigorous training and activities, Filipino-American Bea Millan-Windorski of La Union was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2026.

Her coronation took place Saturday evening, May 2, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

A crowd favorite from the onset, Millan-Windorski wowed judges with her answer during the final question-and-answer round.

The question:
“Many Filipinos are growing frustrated with the country. For you, why is it still worth representing the Philippines on the global stage?”

Her answer:

“The Philippines is both something and a place that I’ve been in love with my whole life,” she said. “Growing up in a predominantly non-diverse part of the United States, I was identified as Filipina first and foremost. I often had to point out where the Philippines was on a map to my peers, yet I always felt a deep sense of belonging and home.”

With the growing community of P-pop groups, each act brings a distinct sound and concept that reflects their unique identity.
Under the helm of CreaZion Studios Artists, GLXY Talent Management, and Universal Records Philippines, FINA takes on the center stage.
During their official media launch last Feb 19, held at Noctos Music Bar in Quezon City. The group, composed of Anika, Nala, Chill, Cia, and Heaven, energized the event with a live performance of their debut single, Paramdam.
Aside from the performance, the girls also got to watch the music video for the first time, which features the group presenting various Filipino mythical creatures.
According to Chill, making the mythical creature the main concept of their music video was to highlight and pay tribute to Filipino culture.
"I think we connect that to the modern theme and to our mythical creatures because modern Filipinas often give back to history. They take from history, we learn from our past, then try to recreate it and own it. And that’s what we do, we try to pay tribute to Philippine folklore and mythology and make it our own through performance and dance," Chill said.

Meanwhile, Heaven added that aside from highlighting Filipino culture, their group also aims to share how talented Filipinos are on the international stage.
"We want to represent through our music our Filipino culture, traditions, values, and instruments, to show the international stage how beautiful Filipino culture is,'' Heaven said during the interview.
Despite the different sounds of P-pop groups, FINA mentioned that it doesn't have to be a competition between the community because at the end of the day, each of these groups have their own way of presenting Filipino music.
"P-pop is versatile. There’s not just one style of P-pop. You can be different. In the end, as Filipinos, we have different sides of ourselves, and that’s what we want to showcase in the international scene," Anika said.

Bela Padilla is a remarkable individual who wears many hats as a director, producer, actor, and businesswoman. She is truly the epitome of someone who can be her own boss.

Despite all her achievements and the blessings that come with her diverse roles, there is one opportunity she hesitates to accept: working in theater.

During an episode of the Manila Bulletin's podcast, "The Sit Down," Bela shared her reasons for not wanting to try theater.

"Maybe one day in the future, but kasi, honestly, first, I have terrible stage fright. Second, I'm super forgetful, and my attention span is so short. So I feel like I would forget every show, may makakalimutan akong line for sure. (Maybe one day in the future. But honestly, first of all, I have terrible stage fright. Second, I'm really forgetful, and my attention span is super short—so I feel like I’d forget every show, and I’d definitely forget my lines)," Bela said.

Bela mentioned that she often forgets her routine, such as catching up with friends, but she never forgets her lines when filming.

"Funny story tho, I'm forgetful with everything, like I could meet a person like two days ago, and then I wouldn't know their name today. Pero kapag lines sa film, I'll remember everything kahit yung lines ng kaeksena ko. (Funny thing is, I'm super forgetful about everything—like, I could meet someone two days ago and already forget their name. But when it comes to film lines, I remember everything—even my co-star’s lines)," she  added.

Although the actress is still hesitant about trying theater, JC Santos, her leading man in the movie "100 Awit Para Kay Stella," reassured her that there's no harm in giving it a try.

"Kung ako naman kasama mo hindi naman mangyayari yun, pero konting push na lang feeling ko mapiplit ko na siya. (If I were with you, that wouldn't happen, but with just a little push, I feel like I can force her)," JC said.

After competing for the crown of Mrs. Universe 2025 Philippines, successful business owner and beauty queen Vivian Caramba is ready for the challenge.
During an intimate press conference held at the Lexus Manila Gallery in Taguig, Vivian shared her story and why she decided to enter pageantry.
"I entered pageantry kasi gusto ko ipakita na ang tagumpay ay hindi lamang sa negosyo, ito ay nagbibigay inspirasyon sa ating kapwa lalo na sa mga kababaihan," Vivian said.
(I entered pageantry to show that success isn’t limited to the business world — it can also inspire our communities, especially other women.)
Reflecting on her childhood, Vivian shared that she only took part in high school intramurals and never imagined she would one day step onto a real pageant stage.
"Before kinukuha na ako as muse, like varsity muse mga ganun pero I never expected na makakasali ako sa Mrs. Universe. Actually medyo nasurprise nga ako na kinukuha ako to participate on this pageant," she said.
(Before this, I was chosen as a muse for school events, like for the varsity team, but I never imagined I’d one day be part of something like Mrs. Universe. Honestly, I was a bit surprised when I was invited to join the pageant.
According to Vivian, it was an unforgettable experience for her to be able to walk on stage and win the crown.
"Kasi kung ano yung hindi ko naranasan dati kung kailan nagka-edad ako tsaka ako nakaranas ng ganitong pangyayari sa buhay ko," she added.
(Because it was something I had never gone through before — and to experience it later in life made it even more meaningful)
As the newly crowned Mrs. Universe PH 2025, Vivian also received a luxurious Lexus vehicle from her husband, Bernie Caramba. The couple's friends and family were present during the official turnover of the car.
The Lexus LM highlighted during the ceremony is regarded as the pinnacle of luxury mobility. Its spacious design, advanced innovations, and unmatched comfort make it the ultimate choice for those who value prestige and elegance in every journey.
Surrounded by dear friends, Vivian Caramba marked the handover in an atmosphere filled with celebration and camaraderie.
Vivian is now preparing for the upcoming 48th Edition of Mrs. Universe 2025, which will be happening on Oct. 08 in Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City
