GMA News ranks No. 3 worldwide in global video views, surpassing CNN, BBC

Published Jun 10, 2026 05:12 pm

At A Glance

  • GMA News ranked No. 3 worldwide in Tubular Labs' April 2026 rankings, surpassing global news organizations including CNN, BBC News, and Al Jazeera with 3.6 billion video views.

GMA News has scored a major international milestone after climbing to the No. 3 spot worldwide in the latest Tubular Leadership Worldwide Rankings, making it the highest-ranked news publisher from the Philippines.

The April 2026 rankings released by video analytics company Tubular Labs showed GMA News generating 3.6 billion video views across its official digital platforms, catapulting the organization from No. 40 in March to No. 3 globally in just one month.

The achievement places GMA News alongside some of the world's biggest news organizations. It ranked behind only Fox News of the United States, which recorded 6.7 billion views, and India's NDTV with 4 billion views. GMA News also outranked several international media brands, including CNN, BBC News, and Al Jazeera.

The network's massive audience came from a combination of platforms, led by Instagram with 2.9 billion views, followed by Facebook with 569 million views and YouTube with 119 million views.

Livestream coverage of major local and international events helped drive audience engagement. Among the most-viewed stories were developments surrounding the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, congressional hearings on the fuel energy crisis linked to tensions between the United States and Iran, and updates on the historic Artemis II Moon mission.

The news organization has also strengthened its digital-first approach through mobile journalism and online-focused content formats designed for social media audiences. These include its "Explainers by GMA News" and "What We Know So Far" segments, which break down complex stories into more accessible formats for viewers.

User-generated content featured on YouScoop+, as well as quick news updates through "News: Pinned" and quote-card formats, have likewise contributed to the network's growing online presence.

Thalía, Sandara Park, Tay Tawan among int'l stars sending love to Pinoys after devastating Mindanao quake

  • International stars are showing support for Filipinos affected by the recent Mindanao earthquake. Sandara Park, Thalía, and Thai actor Tay Tawan shared heartfelt messages of solidarity, prayers, and encouragement as communities continue recovery efforts following the powerful quake.

In the wake of the powerful earthquake that struck Mindanao this week, several international celebrities have taken to social media to express concern and solidarity with affected communities.

Among them was South Korean singer and actress Sandara Park, whose ties to the Philippines stretch back to the beginning of her entertainment career.

he former 2NE1 member shared a message on Instagram, saying her thoughts were with those impacted by the disaster.

"My heart goes out to everyone affected by the earthquake in Mindanao," Sandara wrote, adding that the region continues to hold special meaning for her because of the kindness and support she experienced there during her time in the Philippines.

She also offered prayers for the safety and recovery of residents facing the aftermath of the quake.

Mexican music icon Thalía likewise reached out to Filipinos through a post on X, expressing sadness over the tragedy.

"Philippines, I'm deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake. Keeping everyone affected in my thoughts and prayers, and sending love, strength, and light during this difficult time," the singer wrote.

Another message came from Thai actor Tawan Vihokratana, more popularly known as Tay, who addressed Filipinos directly in a post written in Filipino.

"Sa ating mga kaibigang Pilipino, nabalitaan ko ang tungkol sa lindol at nais ko pong ipaabot ang aking taos-pusong suporta at panalangin para sa inyong kaligtasan. Ingat po kayong lahat," he said.

The messages appeared as rescue and recovery efforts continued across parts of Mindanao following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of Sarangani on June 8.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake originated along the Cotabato Trench, a major tectonic feature in southern Philippines. The earthquake caused fatalities, damaged infrastructure, and prompted tsunami warnings in several coastal areas.

While government agencies and humanitarian groups continue their response efforts, messages from celebrities abroad have added to the growing wave of support being extended to affected Filipinos.

Olivia Rodrigo reveals the one thing about Filipinos that blew her away during first PH concert

By Neil Ramos

Published Jun 9, 2026 12:13 pm

Olivia Rodrigo is once again shining a spotlight on Filipino talent. The global pop star recalled her first visit to the Philippines and revealed why Filipino fans delivered one of the most unforgettable concert experiences of her career.

Olivia Rodrigo is once again highlighting her Filipino roots, this time sharing what she learned after performing here during her “Guts” World Tour.

The Grammy-winning singer said her first-ever concert in Manila gave her a deeper appreciation for Filipino audiences and their widely recognized musical talent.

Speaking in Dazed’s “dA-Zed Guide to Being,” Rodrigo reflected on the experience, which marked the biggest crowd she had performed for at the time.

She admitted she felt nervous before going on stage, unsure of what to expect from such a massive audience.

“They just could not be more welcoming or more lovely,” Rodrigo said. “I was really nervous but I walked out on stage and it was just such a lovely experience.”

What surprised her most was not just the crowd’s energy but the way they sounded throughout the show.

She said, “If you watch the videos back, you can hardly even hear me cause it is just like a chorus of perfectly in tune vocals from the audience.”

For her, the experience reinforced something often associated with the Philippines, a strong culture of music and vocal talent that shows up in everyday life, from karaoke to live performances and international competitions.

The moment also added meaning to her ongoing connection with her Filipino heritage, something she has spoken about throughout her career. From Filipino food to karaoke culture, Rodrigo has often embraced that part of her identity in interviews and public appearances.

But her Manila show stood out as a direct experience of that culture in real time, in front of one of the largest audiences of her tour.

Bea Alonzo breaks social media hiatus, reignites buzz about her personal life

Published Jun 6, 2026 11:23 am

At A Glance

  • Bea Alonzo has finally returned to Instagram after weeks of social media silence. While fans welcomed her comeback, many couldn't help but speculate about the status of her relationship with Vincent Co amid ongoing wedding rumors.

For weeks, Bea Alonzo's social media accounts had been unusually quiet.

At a time when speculation about her rumored wedding to businessman Vincent Co was reaching a fever pitch, the actress chose to stay away from the online noise, offering little insight into what was happening in either her personal or professional life.

That changed recently.

Bea resurfaced on Instagram with a collection of photos from what appeared to be a recent European trip. The carousel featured candid moments from Amsterdam, London, and Paris, travel snapshots that seemed intended to share a few happy memories rather than make any grand statement.

Yet, as often happens with celebrities, the conversation quickly shifted from where she had been to what fans believed they saw.

While many followers welcomed her return and flooded the comments section with messages of support, others were quick to zero in on a detail they felt was impossible to ignore: Bea appeared to be without her engagement ring in several of the photos.

The observation immediately reignited questions surrounding her relationship with Vincent, whose supposed May wedding to the actress has become one of the most talked-about celebrity stories of the year.

In recent months, rumors have swirled about the couple's plans, particularly after reports emerged that a wedding reportedly scheduled in Spain did not push through as expected.

Since then, neither Bea nor Vincent has publicly clarified the status of their relationship, creating a vacuum that has inevitably been filled by speculation.

As a result, even the smallest details are now being dissected by fans and observers looking for clues.

To be fair, the absence of an engagement ring is hardly definitive proof of anything. Many people choose not to wear expensive jewelry while traveling, while others simply do not wear their rings all the time. Still, given the timing of Bea's post and the unanswered questions surrounding her future with Vincent, it is easy to understand why some fans viewed the photos through a different lens.

Interestingly, Bea's online return comes shortly after she quietly resumed work commitments.

Last month, photos of the actress back on the set of the upcoming GMA series "Whispers From Heaven" surfaced, signaling a return to business as usual despite the persistent rumors surrounding her private life.

Whether Bea intended her latest Instagram post to mark the end of her social media retreat or simply to share moments from her travels, it accomplished something else entirely: it put her back at the center of the conversation.

The zombie thriller stars Jun Ji-hyun, also known as Gianna Jun, and Ji Chang-wook, and marks Yeon’s latest big-screen project following the global success of “Train to Busan.”

“Colony” follows survivors trapped inside a building amid a rapidly evolving zombie outbreak, blending large-scale action, suspense, and emotional survival drama.

Viewers praised its intense action scenes, tense atmosphere, and fresh take on the zombie genre.

Note that the film has also been dominating overseas markets.

Data from the Korean Film Council showed that “Colony” surpassed 1 million moviegoers in South Korea in less than four days, becoming the fastest Korean film released in 2026 to reach the milestone. The movie later crossed the 2-million-viewer mark within just five days of release.

Industry trackers likewise reported that “Colony” posted the highest opening score among Korean releases this year.

It has also secured a North American premiere slot at the 2026 New York Asian Film Festival, further boosting international buzz surrounding the movie.

He recalled telling Astals, “Tita, hindi makukumpleto yung reunion project kasi na-miss ka nila.”

It is worth noting that Astals has been away from the entertainment industry for several years after previously opening up about living with bipolar disorder. Her return marks a rare comeback appearance in a major film project.

Is Bela Padilla becoming a problem on the set of 'Blood vs. Duty'? Shocking allegations surface

Published May 23, 2026 10:41 am

  • Citing a source, Ogie Diaz said Bela Padilla is allegedly becoming difficult to work with on set, supposedly interfering with decisions involving the script, production flow, and scene distribution.

Actress Bela Padilla is currently at the center of controversy after rumors surfaced claiming that she has allegedly become a “headache” for the production team of her ongoing series “Blood vs. Duty.”

The issue was recently discussed by comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz in his “Showbiz Update” vlog, where he shared several behind-the-scenes allegations reportedly circulating within the production.

Ogie first brought up Bela’s cryptic Instagram Story post, which read: “When you give it your all pero di man lang pala siya day ender.”

The talent manager explained that in television production, a “day ender” refers to the episode’s final or cliffhanger scene and that it is usually the most important moment meant to hook viewers into watching the next episode.

According to Ogie, Bela was allegedly disappointed after expecting her scene to become the episode’s “day ender,” only for it not to happen despite allegedly giving her all during filming.

The veteran showbiz personality questioned why the matter became an issue in the first place, saying actors typically do not interfere with decisions regarding which scenes become the highlight of an episode.

Aside from the alleged complaint, Ogie claimed that more stories regarding Bela’s supposed attitude on the set of “Blood vs. Duty” had reached him.

“Totoo ba na ikaw ay sakit ng ulo ng production?” Ogie asked in his vlog, while also mentioning alleged reports that Bela supposedly brought some of her concerns directly to top management instead of first addressing them with the production staff.

The talent manager also brought up rumors involving actor Baron Geisler, claiming there were whispers on set that Bela allegedly had issues with him.

The vlogger also mentioned rumors that the actress previously encountered issues with fellow celebrities including Carlo Aquino, Ria Atayde, and even her close friend Angelica Panganiban.

Despite the explosive claims, Ogie clarified that he is not keen on believing the rumors and that he would rather wait to hear Bela’s side before passing judgement.

But he ended his commentary with a blunt remark: “Kung feeling mo napakahusay mong artista… dapat ikaw na mag-produce.”

Ouch.

As of writing, Bela has yet to publicly address the allegations.

“Minsan pag tinitingnan ko siya, napapa-thank you Lord ako,” she said. “Hindi ko in-expect na almost 30, makakahanap pa ako ng sobrang bait.”

Sue, who is set to turn 30, also revealed that she has long dreamed of becoming a mother and feels emotionally and mentally ready for it.

“Matagal ko na siyang gustong mangyari for me. Gusto kong maging nanay. Gusto kong maging nanay na katulad ng nanay ko,” she said.

She also acknowledged the pressure that comes with age and family planning, but said she remains open and willing if the opportunity comes.

“Kung ibibigay sa akin, why not?” she added.

When asked whether she is open to having a child even without marriage, Sue responded, “Oo naman,” but clarified that her perspective has evolved over time.

She explained that while she once considered the idea of raising a child independently, she now believes it depends on having the right partner, someone she can trust as a father even if circumstances change along the way.

For Sue, what matters most is choosing someone with a good heart and strong values, especially when it comes to family.

She also praised Dominic’s way with his family and loved ones, saying she sees how caring he is toward his nieces, nephews, and even her pets.

  • Get to know Bea Millan-Windorski, Miss Universe Philippines 2026 winner and Filipino-American beauty queen. Discover her inspiring journey from Wisconsin to the global pageant stage, her education, advocacies, and rise as a representative for the Philippines at Miss Universe 2026.
Bea Millan-Windorski is now among most talked-about names in pageantry today and not just because she is this year's Miss Universe Philippines winner. With a rare blend of academic depth, Filipino-American identity, and a purpose-driven voice, she represents a new kind of beauty queen: one who leads with both intellect and impact.
But who is she really?

Born to a Filipino immigrant family with roots in La Union, Bea grew up in Wisconsin, USA, where culture and identity played a major role in shaping her worldview. Her maternal grandparents had migrated from the Philippines, grounding her in a strong Filipino heritage despite growing up abroad.

At Whitefish Bay High School, she wasn’t just a student—she was a multi-talented achiever. She joined the varsity dance team, played cello in orchestra, and even sharpened her voice in debate competitions. Alongside academics, she trained in ballet and music at respected institutions, showing early signs of discipline and performance artistry that would later define her pageant career.

Before stepping into pageantry, Bea built a strong academic foundation at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning degrees in History and International Relations. Her interest in global affairs, particularly US–ASEAN relations, shaped her understanding of diplomacy, identity, and cultural exchange.

She was also active in campus life as a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, further developing her leadership skills and social awareness—traits that would later become central to her advocacy work.

Bea’s entry into pageantry was nothing short of historic. Representing Wisconsin, she joined Miss Earth USA 2024 and ultimately made history as the first Filipino-American to win the title.

Her preparation was deeply rooted in Filipino creativity and mentorship, working with industry professionals connected to Philippine pageantry. Her win wasn’t just a personal milestone—it marked the beginning of an international journey.

As Miss Earth USA, she represented the United States at Miss Earth 2024, where she continued to stand out on the global stage. She earned the Miss Earth – Water title, securing a top placement among international candidates.

One of her most talked-about moments came during the final question-and-answer round, where she emphasized environmental responsibility and the need to reconsider humanity’s relationship with technology and nature. Her response reflected her consistent advocacy for sustainability and climate awareness.

Bea’s return to her roots marked a defining shift in her career. In 2026, she was officially chosen as La Union’s representative for the Miss Universe Philippines competition.

From the start, she was seen as a frontrunner—and she delivered.

She advanced through every major stage of the competition, impressing judges with her intelligence, authenticity, and advocacy-driven answers. During the final Q&A, she spoke about Filipino resilience and identity, emphasizing her pride in representing a nation she deeply connects with, despite growing up abroad.

Her powerful performance earned her the crown of Miss Universe Philippines 2026, succeeding Ahtisa Manalo.

What sets Bea apart in the world of pageantry is her commitment to meaningful causes. She is actively involved in environmental advocacy and migrant rights, drawing from both her Filipino heritage and her international upbringing.

She founded Open Doors, Open Hearts, a group focused on raising awareness about climate refugees and displaced communities. She has also supported conservation efforts for marine life in La Union through environmental projects like sea turtle protection initiatives.

Bea now prepares for her biggest international challenge yet: representing the Philippines at Miss Universe 2026.

Her journey is already shaping up to be more than a pageant run. It’s a story of identity, migration, purpose, and global representation.

Joey Albert at 45: A legacy of purpose, music, and meaning

By Neil Ramos

At A Glance

  • Joey Albert marks 45 years in music with her "FORTYfied" concert, reflecting on a career built through discipline, collaboration, and enduring contributions to OPM, as she continues to connect with audiences across generations.

There are artists who live off memory and then there is Joey Albert: still working, still searching, still finding ways to matter.

Forty-five years into a career that has helped shape the sound of OPM, Albert returns to the stage not to revisit the past, but to continue a conversation she has never really stopped having with her audience.

Her upcoming concert, “FORTYfied: Joey Albert 45,” is, on paper, a milestone event. In essence, however, it is way more than that. It is more a statement of intent.

Her longevity is no accident.

It was forged long before the hits, in the discipline of the band circuit, where success was earned and consistency demanded. “I learned the ropes through my work with a band. It was not easy, hard work talaga,” she said.

That period, she recalls, proved formative beyond music. “Doon ko natutunan ang kahalagahan ng pakikisama, to listen… and respect. You learn to respect those who came before you. You learn to respect different perspectives.”

The lessons endured. Even at her most expressive, Albert’s performances carry restraint; even at their most expansive, they retain a sense of shared musical space.

That instinct informed the collaborations that defined her catalog. “Points of View,” with Pops Fernandez, captured the emotional interplay of duet storytelling. “I Remember the Boy,” written by Jose Mari Chan, balanced nostalgia with control. Her work with Louie Ocampo—“Without You,” “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin,” “You Threw It All Away,” and “It’s Over Now,” underscored her strength as an interpreter attuned to nuance rather than excess.

“Because of my background singing in groups, it was easy for me to collaborate with people. And we established a strong bond through our work,” she said.

That thread continues into the present.

The concert brings together longtime collaborators including Raymond Lauchengco, Janet Basco, Iwi Laurel, Chad Borja, Janice de Belen, Judith Banal, and Fernandez, an assembly that goes beyond nostalgia, more continuity.

Albert’s relevance, particularly among younger listeners discovering her through streaming platforms, rests on a refusal to treat reinvention as a device. When her songs have found new life in film, or when she has revisited material across generations, it has been with deliberation rather than calculation. For her, endurance lies in understanding why a song lasts.

Offstage, she leads a quieter life away from the industry’s machinery. Yet the music persists, not out of obligation, but of purpose.

That purpose took on new form during the pandemic, when she turned to digital platforms to sustain connection. “Joey’s Jams,” a series of informal online performances, evolved into “Dear Joey,” where letters from viewers were answered through song rather than commentary.

In a time marked by distance, the format offered a sense of immediacy and care.

“Well, I do what I do mainly to touch people, to continue making a difference in their lives, to inspire,” she said. “I will keep on doing what I can for as long as I can.”

Having faced illness more than once, Albert speaks of survival without sentimentality, framing it instead as perspective. “You begin to make choices based on the legacy you want to leave behind. You don’t sweat the small stuff. You choose what you have energy for.”

"I wanted to be remembered as someone who made people smile, someone who made people happy."

Onstage, then, the concert marks more than a passage of time. It affirms a quieter proposition: that music, carried with sincerity, retains its capacity to meet listeners where they are.

“FORTYfied: Joey Albert 45” will be held on April 25, 8 PM, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Produced by DSL Events & Production House, the concert will benefit the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross, founded by Joey’s late mother.
