They performed 10 songs during their 45-minute set at the Mojave stage of the festival, held in Indio, California, which drew music fans from all over the world.
BINI opened with “Shagidi,” then moved through “Zero Pressure” and “Out Of My Head.” They brought the crowd to their feet with Filipino favorites “Karera” and “Salamin, Salamin,” before delivering “Blink Twice” and “Cherry on Top.” The set also featured the live debut of new track “Blush,” followed by “Bikini,” and a rousing finale with “Pantropiko.”
Throughout the set, members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena took moments to express their gratitude for the chance to represent the Philippines on one of music’s grandest stages.
“We are so grateful to be here to represent the Philippines on a global stage and to share with you guys our music,” said Aiah.
“Being here with all of you has been the sweetest ‘cherry on top’ of our journey so far,” shared Maloi.
Fan support flooded in before, during, and after the performance, which was livestreamed live on the official Coachella YouTube channel.
#BINI_CoachellaWk1 shot to the top of worldwide trending topics on X, topping charts in the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates, reaching #2 in Canada and Singapore, #5 in Australia, and #6 in both Puerto Rico and the United States.
Several other BINI-related topics also trended, including Pinoy Pride, BINICHELLA, Mojave, Walo, Blink Twice, Salamin Salamin, Karera, Zero Pressure, Cherry on Top, Shagidi, and Pantropiko. The headline “BINI Makes History as First All-Filipino Act at Coachella 2026” further trended under X’s Today’s News section.

Back home, fans — known as Blooms — gathered for watch parties across Metro Manila and surrounding cities, organized by the fan group BLOOM Philippines.
BINI is set to return to the Coachella stage for their second weekend performance on Saturday, April 18 (PHT).

The candidate Miss Universe Philippines erased - and why she refuses to disappear

Published Mar 29, 2026 01:00 pm

The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) Organization confirmed the removal of an official candidate from this year's competition lineup.

While the organization has yet to disclose the candidate's identity, pageant fans suspect that Miss Universe Philippines Kalibo, Aklan, Imelda Schweighart, was cut from this year's roster.

"Following concerns that were brought to our attention, the organization undertook a careful and thorough review of the matter," the MUP statement read.

It added, "The delegate was given both verbal and written guidance to help address the situation.

"Despite these efforts, certain behaviors continued in ways that were not aligned with the standards we aim to uphold.

"As such, it has been decided that the delegate will no longer be allowed to continue in the competition," the statement also said.

On social media, Imelda said that her pageant journey continues. Her full post:

"Ten years ago something massive shifted in my life. It was a collision of light and shadow, the good and the bad, but it whispered a truth I’ve carried every single day since: my journey was never meant to be a quiet moment, it was meant to be a legacy.

"I knew even then, in the heat of the fire a decade ago, that I would return. I didn’t know the how and I didn’t know the when, but I felt the pull of destiny. I’ve spent these years living, learning, and waiting for the perfect moment to step back into the light. Now, standing here feels like living in a movie, a vivid dream with the world as my witness.

"My vision was always different. I didn’t want the standard slender silhouette; I wanted the power and the presence of the Latinas I’ve always admired. It took three years of quiet dedication and six months of the most grueling, intensive conditioning to build this version of myself. I am proud of every muscle, every line, and every ounce of strength I’ve earned. I didn’t just wait for a comeback I built the body to sustain it.

"Whether you cheer or you bash, you are part of this story. The noise didn’t break me; it made me immortal in this game. It made me memorable. I am profoundly grateful because I know I am not walking this path alone. I have sustained this fire for ten years because God is the architect behind it all.

"Temporary noise is just a 24-hour cycle, but resiliency is a lifetime. I didn’t come this far just to be a headline. I am here to be remembered.

"The journey continues."

At 30, Imelda is no stranger to the pageant world. A Bb. Pilipinas alumna, she claimed the Miss Philippines Earth crown in 2016 and went on to represent the country at Miss Earth 2016 — a stage she knows all too well.

The Filipina-German beauty queen is also a single mother raising an eight-year-old son — a fact that makes her decade-long fight to reclaim the spotlight all the more compelling.

Historic victory: Fil-Am Autumn Durald Akapaw wins best cinematography at 2026 Oscar Awards

In the history of the category, no woman has ever won the Oscar for cinematography, and only three women have ever been nominated: Rachel Morrison in 2018 for “Mudbound,” Ari Wegner in 2021 for “The Power of the Dog,” and Mandy Walker in 2022 for “Elvis," according to Variety.
For the best cinematography, Autumn beat Adolpho Veloso (“Train Dreams”), Michael Bauman (“One Battle After Another, Dan Laustsen (“Frankenstein”), and Darius Khondji (“Marty Supreme”).
"I'm so honored to be here, and I really want all the women in the room to stand up. Because I feel like I don't get here without you guys. I really, really truly mean that. I have felt so much love from all the women on this whole campaign and have gotten to meet so many people, and I just feel like moments like this happen because of you guys, and I want to thank you for that," said Autumn in her acceptance speech.
According to Variety, after her historic nomination, Autumn said she wasn’t sure if the moment had fully sunk in yet.
“You’re rooting on the sidelines for your family that you made the film with that meant so much to you, and you can only hope that people are recognized, but it’s not your main goal.”
“To have other people, like young girls and boys see you out there, speaking about what you do and showing them that it matters, that’s been really fun," she said.
Autumn added, “I thought how special it would be for in the future someone to look up this nomination, because I’m the fourth woman. And I know the ones that came before me.”

She praised director Ryan Coogler for elevating women in his films. In "Sinners," Hannah Beachler served as production designer and Ruth E. Carter designed the costumes.
“I’m honored that it’s happening with Ryan and for this particular film, and what this story is, because it’s not just for me, it’s not just getting a nomination, it’s what was it for, and who was it with, and so that’s so special to me, It’s very suited that it is Ryan, because that’s how he is. He believes in you so much and on the highest level, with or without accolades," Autumn said.
Prior, Autumn said that she was looking forward to bringing her young son to the Oscars. “My son can go because he’s that age. So that’s going to be fun for me, just seeing his reaction to all of this, and just seeing his little face react to all of this stuff. Because, you know, when we make these films, I have to be away. And I think for him to see what that culminates to is really special."
"Sinners," which grossed $368 million worldwide, now holds the record for the most Oscar nominations at 16.
Born in Oxnard, California, to a Filipino mom and an African-American Creole father, Autumn grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Autumn attended Loyola Marymount University and took up art history. Later, she graduated from the AFI Conservatory's cinematography program in 2009. Following her graduation, she worked in advertising and then as a camera assistant on films. In 2022, she became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
Autumn, 46, debuted as a cinematographer in the TV series "On the Road in America" in 2007. Her recent notable works include "The Last Showgirl," "The Kick of Destiny," "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," "Nike: Play New," and Rihanna's music video "Lift Me Up."

Heart Evangelista brings hope and warmth to the forgotten elderly

Named among the Top 10 influencers in Paris Fashion Week

Published Feb 24, 2026 10:55 am

Actress and global fashion icon Heart Evangelista was deeply touched by her visit to an elderly resident at Tahanang Mapagpala in Malolos, Bulacan.
During the visit, as shown in a video clip, Heart chatted with the elderly, and a grandmother reminded her about the importance of goodness and a pure heart.

"Blessed are the merciful. Blessed are the pure in heart," said a grandmother in a wheelchair.
"That hit a core. I really needed that, Nay," Heart's emotional response.
They shared a heartfelt conversation about aging, family, and care.
"You need children to take care of you when you are old," said the grandmother.
"Yes. Nay, you were sent a lot of children like me to give you sparks of happiness," Heart said.
Recently, Heart also visited another facility for the poor and abandoned elderly in Rizal province.
At Anawim, a home founded by Catholic lay preacher Bo Sanchez, Heart performed songs and dances for the elderly and brought gifts, including wheelchairs and basic necessities.
Heart appears to enjoy spending time with the elderly, sharing her blessings and affection.
Meanwhile, Heart's return to television promises to be more personal and moving in the new season of "Heart's World," her lifestyle and reality series. The first season aired last year, while her previous drama series was in 2022.
Heart shared that viewers can expect a more passionate and in-depth second season of "Heart’s World."
She explained that while the first season focused on glamour, fashion, and her international achievements, the new season will highlight her personal experiences and offer an unfiltered look behind the scenes of life as a celebrity and international fashion icon.
“We need drama. I don’t have drama; they were surprised by the plot twist. There’s a lot of drama. It’s very interesting, this second season,” she shared.
Heart, who is also a businesswoman and influencer, added, “I am divinely protected. And when somebody’s divinely protected, which we all are, you will reach your dreams no matter what.”
Despite the challenges she has faced, Heart proudly shared that her heart remains gentle.
Her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, was also moved after watching the new season of "Heart World."
“I thought she was just being cute and posing. No, it was way different. That's why I cried. She just loves it and gives it more than her own. Made me so proud,” said Mommy Cecilia.
Heart admitted her mother is not easy to please, so this support and praise from her "momager" means a great deal.
The first episode of Heart World Season 2 will premiere on March 7 and air every Saturday at 9:30 p.m. on GMA Network.
Heart stands out in Paris
Once again, Heart solidified her status as a global fashion icon when she landed among Lefty’s Top 10 Key Voices for the January 2026 Paris Menswear Fashion Week.
Heart breached a heavily male-dominated influencer landscape, posting a 5.4 percent engagement rate that generated $3.34 million in Earned Media Value (EMV).
With her in the Top 10 were K-pop idols Mingyu (Seventeen), The8 (Seventeen), and Hyun-jin (Stray Kids); Thai actor and singer Nattawat Jirochtikul (Fourth); and other talents and brand ambassadors in the Asia-Pacific region.
The only other female in the list was Chilean-Mexican singer Mon Laferte, who performed and appeared at the Willy Chavarria show.
During the Menswear Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2026 last month, Heart Evangelista attended high-profile shows by Amiri, Sacai, Patou, Hermès, LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi, and Kenzo.
According to observers, Heart’s strong media impact — especially being the only Filipino representative in the latest Lefty ranking — proves that she continues to drive significant luxury fashion value in the Asia-Pacific region.
Lefty is the influencer marketing platform for leading luxury and lifestyle brands. It identifies the right influencers from a broad number of qualified online profiles, using advanced systems to gain a deep understanding of their demographics, audiences, and profile statistics.
Through Lefty’s Industry Reports, brands can uncover unparalleled insights into the ever-evolving worlds of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
The last time Heart Evangelista entered Lefty’s Top 10 was during Paris Fashion Week in June 2025. Meanwhile, no Filipino representative ranked in the Lefty report for Paris Fashion Week in September 2025, when Heart was notably absent from any shows during that period.

Romance and opportunity in 2026: Feng shui insights from Marites Allen

Published Jan 28, 2026 09:12 pm

Feng Shui Queen Marites Allen predicts that the Year of the Fire Horse 2026 will usher in increased romance and social opportunities, especially for those born under the Ox, Snake, and Rooster signs.
Marites Allen
Marites Allen
Allen explained that, according to classical Chinese metaphysics, the Peach Blossom (romance) energy in 2026 is embodied by the Horse—an enduring symbol that boosts attraction, relationship harmony, and favorable social interactions.
“In 2026, the Peach Blossom Horse will be activated,” Allen said, during a media conference in Taguig City. “This enhances romance and social luck for individuals born in the years of the Ox, Snake, and Rooster. It supports love, marriage prospects, improved relationships, and deeper personal and professional connections.”
Although often linked to love and dating, Peach Blossom luck also boosts social visibility, charm, and interpersonal success—benefiting professionals who depend on relationships, negotiation, sales, leadership, or public-facing roles.
Allen emphasized that the Fire Horse year brings swift developments and heightened emotions, highlighting the need for maturity and clear communication. She noted that individuals born in the Rat and Horse years should exercise extra caution in their relationships during 2026.
“Rat energy clashes with the Horse, and Horse energy experiences self-penalty during its own year,” Allen explained. “This doesn’t mean relationships are doomed, but misunderstandings may arise more quickly if emotions are not managed well.”
To encourage positive outcomes, Allen recommended focusing on calm communication, firm boundaries, and healthy routines to reduce stress. She added that traditional Feng Shui often activates Peach Blossom energy via the South sector—aligned with the Horse direction—or through symbolic charms, depending on one’s chart and intentions.
Allen advised treating romance luck in 2026 as a window of opportunity that still calls for wisdom and discernment.
“Peach Blossom brings opportunity,” she said. “But the quality of your relationships depends on the choices you make.”

A period of speed
The Year of the Fire Horse, which begins on Feb. 17, 2026, is described in classical Feng Shui as a period of speed, increased visibility, emotional intensity, and rapid results.
Fire Horse energy accelerates ongoing events, rewarding those who are prepared and decisive while revealing weaknesses, unresolved issues, and poor planning. The year favors courage, leadership, discipline, and clarity, but challenges impulsiveness, complacency, and imbalance.
According to Marites, 2026 is not a year for hesitation or drifting. The Fire Horse amplifies momentum for all zodiac signs. Those strongly aligned with Fire and movement may achieve breakthroughs in career, leadership, and public recognition, while those facing clashes or pressure should slow down, safeguard their energy, and proceed with heightened awareness. Health, emotional balance, reputation, and decision-making timing are critical themes throughout the year.
The 2026 prognosis offers clear guidance for each of the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs, outlining general opportunities, cautionary periods, and key focus areas like wealth, health, relationships, and career. Instead of predicting specific outcomes, the forecast stresses preparedness, strategic positioning, and conscious responses—essential for navigating a swift and reactive Fire Horse year.
For those wishing to enhance their luck and intentionally align with 2026’s energies, Marites Allen invites the public to her Annual Chinese New Year Countdown and Fire Horse Welcoming Ritual on Feb. 16, 2026, at Manila House Private Members Club.
12 animal zodiac signs
This is your comprehensive guide to the 12 animal zodiac signs for 2026:
RAT 2026 (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020)
The Year of the Fire Horse places Rat-born individuals in a direct clash year, a Feng Shui condition that highlights movement, change, and emotional testing. This does not indicate bad luck, but rather a year where flexibility, awareness, and adaptability become essential. Situations may shift unexpectedly, requiring you to reassess priorities and respond with maturity rather than urgency. Progress is still possible, but it comes through patience, reflection, and steady effort rather than force. This year encourages inner growth, self-discipline, and wiser decision-making, preparing you for stronger opportunities ahead.
OX 2026 (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021)
The Year of the Fire Horse brings a period of steady adjustment and reflection for Ox-born individuals. While this is not a clash year, it is a time that encourages reassessment, learning, and measured progress. Situations may require patience and a willingness to adapt rather than relying solely on привычные routines or past strategies. Growth in 2026 comes through experience, discipline, and a calm response to change. When expectations are managed wisely, this year can help the Ox strengthen foundations and prepare for more dynamic cycles ahead.
TIGER 2026 (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022)
The Year of the Fire Horse brings an active and demanding energy for Tiger-born individuals. This year highlights movement, decision-making, and the need for greater self-control. While opportunities may present themselves, progress depends on how well impulses are managed. Acting too quickly or emotionally may lead to unnecessary complications. 2026 encourages Tigers to slow down, think strategically, and choose responses carefully. When awareness and discipline are applied, this year can become a period of learning, recalibration, and personal strengthening.
RABBIT 2026 (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023)
The Year of the Fire Horse marks a strong wealth and success cycle for Rabbit-born individuals. This year supports recognition, financial growth, and smoother progress in personal and professional pursuits. Opportunities to increase income or improve material stability may arise more naturally, often through existing skills, networks, or past efforts. When aligned properly, results can come with less resistance than usual. However, this favorable momentum also calls for awareness, as increased activity brings greater responsibility. 2026 encourages Rabbits to enjoy success while remaining grounded, attentive, and prudent in their choices.
DRAGON 2026 (1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024)
The Year of the Fire Horse is a significant and favorable period for Dragon-born individuals, as it is supported by the Future Prosperity Star in Feng Shui. This star is associated with long-term growth, rising influence, and opportunities that build lasting success rather than instant results. While progress may not always appear immediate, the year encourages Dragons to focus on vision, positioning, and decisions that shape the future. When approached with discipline and clarity, 2026 becomes a year of planting strong foundations for wealth, recognition, and sustained advancement.
SNAKE 2026 (1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025)
The Year of the Fire Horse brings a quietly favorable cycle for Snake-born individuals, supported by the presence of the Future Prosperity Star. In Feng Shui, this star signifies opportunities that grow over time through wise planning, foresight, and well-timed decisions rather than immediate rewards. For the Snake, 2026 is a year of subtle progress. Results may not always be obvious at first, but strategic moves made now can shape long-term success. This year encourages patience, clarity, and careful positioning, allowing prosperity to develop steadily and sustainably.
HORSE 2026 (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026)
The Year of the Fire Horse is a sensitive and demanding cycle for Horse-born individuals, as it combines a self-penalty year with the influence of the Misfortune Star in Feng Shui. This combination highlights internal pressure, restlessness, and a tendency toward dissatisfaction if energy is not well managed. The Misfortune Star is traditionally associated with repeated disruptions, instability, and a feeling that matters require more effort than usual. This does not indicate unavoidable misfortune, but it does signal the need for caution, grounding, and conscious balance. Progress is still possible, but it comes through restraint, awareness, and deliberate pacing rather than force or speed.
SHEEP 2026 (1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2027)
The Year of the Fire Horse places Sheep-born individuals in a year that requires greater caution and self-protection. The presence of the Robbery and Loss Star indicates heightened vulnerability to unexpected disruptions, carelessness, or physical strain if awareness is lacking. This does not mean misfortune is unavoidable, but it does signal the need to slow down, remain attentive, and avoid unnecessary risks. Progress in 2026 comes through prudence, emotional composure, and prioritizing safety. This year encourages awareness, restraint, and a more grounded approach to daily life.
MONKEY 2026 (1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028)
The Year of the Fire Horse brings a year of caution and alert decision-making for Monkey-born individuals. This year is influenced by the presence of the Robbery Star, which in Feng Shui is associated with loss, disputes, injury, or situations arising from carelessness or misplaced trust. This does not indicate inevitable problems, but it does signal the need for vigilance, discipline, and responsible behavior. Progress in 2026 is possible when actions are well-considered and risks are minimized. This year encourages maturity, foresight, and better judgment in both personal and external matters.
ROOSTER 2026 (1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029)
The Year of the Fire Horse places Rooster-born individuals under the influence of a Misunderstanding and Conflict Star, a Feng Shui indication that highlights tension in communication, differing viewpoints, and heightened sensitivity in interactions. This does not suggest inevitable problems, but it does indicate that peace and harmony may be more easily disturbed if words and actions are not handled carefully. Situations may escalate quickly when emotions run high or when assumptions are made without clarity. Progress in 2026 depends on restraint, diplomacy, and conscious effort to maintain balance. This year encourages maturity, patience, and thoughtful responses to avoid unnecessary disputes.
DOG 2026 (1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030)
The Year of the Fire Horse brings a generally supportive and encouraging cycle for Dog-born individuals, as the Horse is considered a friendly ally to the Dog in Chinese metaphysics. This relationship enhances networking luck, cooperation, and the likelihood of receiving help from others. Opportunities may arise through social connections, partnerships, or being introduced to the right people at the right time. However, alongside this positive momentum, the Illness Star reminds Dog-born individuals to balance activity with self-care. Progress in 2026 comes from leveraging strong support systems while remaining mindful of personal well-being.
BOAR 2026 (1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031)
The Year of the Fire Horse presents a mixed but manageable cycle for Boar-born individuals. While the Horse’s active and restless energy may feel demanding, it also encourages growth through adaptability and emotional maturity. In 2026, Boar-born individuals are also influenced by the Illness Star, which signals the need to pay closer attention to physical well-being and energy management. This does not indicate serious health problems, but it does suggest that fatigue or minor ailments may arise if rest and balance are neglected. Progress this year comes from pacing yourself, setting clear priorities, and maintaining inner calm amid change.

Elena Kozlova ready to star in a full-length Filipino film

Russian actress Elena Kozlova, known for her English-speaking roles in two previous films, has expressed her excitement to star in a full-length Filipino movie.

When asked if she is prepared to speak Tagalog in a Philippine film, Elena replied, "Ngayon na, pwede na mag-Tagalog. Syempre, I would like that. (I can speak Tagalog now.)," showing her enthusiasm to embrace the local language on screen.
Elena revealed that she watches numerous Filipino movies to improve her Tagalog skills. "I'm a big fan of Anne Curtis because I love her screen presence," she shared.
She shared that her experience in the Philippines has been wonderful, especially working with local directors and producers.
"It's fantastic. I'm having a great experience here. I'm very thankful to the Filipino directors and producers for trusting me," Elena said about her stay in the Philippines.
Elena added, "I plan to make more movies in the Philippines, but I have been selective about the roles I take. In my experience, many roles for foreigners tend to be stereotypical, often as the 'other woman' or in sexy parts. But the Philippine industry is open and evolving.
"Many films are now being produced for international competitions. I believe we'll see more unique stories in Philippine cinema moving forward, and I hope to be part of that growth," she said.
In 2022, Elena made her Netflix debut in "To Russia With Love" alongside Gerald Anderson. She acknowledged being particular about the roles she accepts. Elena also discussed her part in the romantic film "Spring in Prague," which was partly filmed in the Czech Republic.
"In 'Spring in Prague,' I play a supporting role as the best friend of the lead character. I hope I did justice to my part.
"I'm also selective about the projects I join, because in today's saturated industry, I want to be proud of the work I present. 'Spring in Prague' is a great example—I hope viewers enjoy it as much as I do!" she said.

Elena is a multi-talented personality—model, actress, singer, and interpreter. Despite her busy schedule, she emphasizes that family comes first. She is married to businessman Raymond Yap.
Among the new generation of stars, Elena admires Hollywood actress Ana de Armas, "because she can portray complex characters."
She added, "I have immense respect for talented actors. Internationally, I admire Eddie Redmayne, especially after 'Day of the Jackal.' Among Filipino artists, Nadine Lustre impressed me in 'Deleter.'"
As for her upcoming work, Elena revealed, "I have a few unreleased projects, including a historical drama about Filipinos in the US, which has yet to premiere."
Given the chance, Elena would love to portray a villain or a spy in future projects.
"My dream role would be to play a spy or villain. It would be exciting to explore a different persona, and I believe my skills—speaking multiple languages, handling firearms, and even horseback riding—would suit such characters," she explained.

Asked about her dream collaborations among local stars, Elena shared, "Everyone I've met in the industry has been very kind and welcoming. I met Ritz Azul at a Borracho Films premiere, and we had a great conversation—I think it would be a lot of fun to work together! I'd also love to work with my close friends Jef Gaitan and Veronica Reyes again."
'Spring in Prague' explores a cross-cultural romance between a Filipino and a Czech. It is directed by Lester Dimaranan and Paolo Emmanuel Magsino. Starring Paolo Gumabao and Sara Sandeva, the film premieres in cinemas nationwide on Feb. 4.

A controversy is brewing at the 2025 Miss Universe Competition, currently underway in Thailand, following the official statement of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) that the special dinner and talk show previously announced by Miss Universe Thailand are unauthorized.
But on Monday, Nov. 3, the MUT said that "as the officially licensed host organization, we hold the rights to manage and execute such promotional activities within our territory."
On Nov. 2, the MUO reminded the public that "any event, activity, or online initiative not announced through our verified channels is unauthorized."
It all began when Nawat Itsaragrisil, the National Director of Miss Universe Thailand and Executive Director of the MUO, encouraged pageant fans to vote for the Top 10 candidates who would join him for the Special Dinner and Talk Show.

As of Nov. 3, the Philippines led the poll. Delegates from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, Chile, Venezuela, Cambodia, and Mexico were also on the list.
However, the MUO stated, "Any independent or third-party activity using the Miss Universe name, logo, marks, or related branding without prior written authorization is considered a violation of intellectual property rights and brand integrity."
It added that the MUO reserves all legal rights to take appropriate action against any individual, company or entity found to be using its intellectual property, trademarks or brand assets without permission, including but not limited to the Miss Universe name, logo, imagery or official event designations.

OPM icon Louie Reyes, who was a member of the popular '70s vocal group The New Minstrels, has passed away.

Louie's demise was confirmed by her husband, Cesar dela Fuente, in one of the tribute posts for the Filipino jazz singer.

"Today I lost the love of my life," wrote Cesar on Oct. 26. The cause of Louie's death was not disclosed. No interment details for Louie have been announced.

Following her death, colleagues in the entertainment industry — Odette Quesada, Ivy Violan, and Leah Navarro — offered condolences and prayers.

Singer-songwriter Odette Quesada wrote on Facebook, "Bodjie and Iran into Louie Reyes at IKEA in Burbank, California, 24 years ago. She had heard that we had recently relocated to Los Angeles and welcomed us with open arms, telling us to call if we ever needed anything.

"Through the years, we saw Louie Reyes and her husband, Cesar, at every Filipino event in L.A. and grew a kinship most musicians have with each other, born of mutual respect and camaraderie.

"Louie Reyes was also there at Bodjie's memorial. We even got to do a few shows together —the last just a couple of years ago —where we had a long, meaningful, and thoughtful conversation about life after the show.

"She was always so encouraging, always so gracious, always so kind. Louie Reyes, you will always be missed. My condolences to your family and friends," Odette said.

Among the popular songs of The New Minstrels are "Smile," "I Don't Love You Anymore," "Nothing I Want More," and "Ikaw, Ako, Tayo'y Magkakapatid."
