Fancied Creamline and Cignal put their unbeaten records on the line when they clash on Tuesday, July 1, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan City.
Match is set at 6:30 p.m. as the league returns to the National Capital Region after weekend stops in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and Batangas City.
The winner of the Creamline-Cignal showdown will seize the solo lead in Pool B, with both teams eyeing a third straight victory in as many outings.
Kicking off the day’s action is the 4 p.m. matchup between PLDT and Farm Fresh—two teams looking to start strong in Pool A.
Both Creamline and Cignal are hoping that the weeklong break has recharged them, following dominant performances in Vigan where they ruled their respective assignments against Akari and Capital1.
As expected, the Cool Smashers are showcasing their trademark depth led by the lethal trio of Michele Gumabao, Alyssa Valdez, and Jema Galanza, who combined for 46 points in their four-set win over the Akari Chargers.
New recruit Sheena Toring, a former National University standout, is also out to prove her worth after scoring 10 points in the same match.
Cignal, meanwhile, is unfazed—having yet to drop a set in the tournament.
The HD Spikers are banking on their own powerhouse trio of Erika Santos, Roselyn Doria, and Ishie Lalongisip, with additional firepower from Heather Guino-o, Tin Tiamzon and Gel Cayuna.
Meanwhile, PLDT and Farm Fresh aim to make a strong impression in Pool A. Kim Fajardo, Dell Palomata, and Majoy Baron are expected to lead the High Speed Hitters while the Foxies lean on the veteran presence of Rachel Daquis, along with Trisha Tubu and Caitlyn Viray.
