The employees of the provincial government of Davao de Oro as the trained enumerators and geo taggers braved the mountains and remote areas, walked long miles, crossed rivers using bamboo raft just to help establish a concrete, accurate and reliable baseline data as point of reference that serves as basis for the decision makers and development planners to come up with an evidence-based quality, doable and implementable plans, policies programs and projects to be prioritized.

Through the Provincial Household Profiling and Needs Assessment (PHPNA), the government will get new, accurate and correct data in terms of health, demographics characteristics, building/house structural characteristics, climate change and disaster information, and accessibility and communication.

This activity is set to be completed until November this year and shall be conducted in all municipalities of the province as part of steeping up data collection, and improving DDO through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity. Soldiers donate blood to help save lives

Davao de Oro --- Soldiers belonging to the operating units of the Army’s 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion have participated in a bloodletting activity held at the battalion headquarters in Barangay Nueva Visayas, Mawab, Davao de Oro on July 8, 2020.

 

The initiative is part of the soldiers’ continuing humanitarian efforts to help sustain the adequate blood supply in the blood banks that could save more lives during emergencies.

 

“We are not only ensuring the safety of people and securing the land but also saving lives,” 2nd Lt. Kim Carlos of 71st IB said in his brief message during the activity, dubbed, “Dugo mo, Alay sa Kapwa mo. Sa Pagtulong at Serbisyo, Kaibigan: Makiisa Tayo”.

 

The event was spearheaded by Lt. Colonel Sonny E. Gonzales, 71st Commanding Officer and made possible in partnership with Kiwanis International, Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mawab, Philippine Red Cross of Davao de Oro Chapter, and Office of the Governor thru Provincial Tourism Office.

 

A total of 45 blood bags were collected from 50 soldiers and will be used in case of emergency.

Prior to the bloodletting, some children received Jollibee food packs and toys as they attended a children’s party organized by the army on the afternoon at the same day.

 

Carlos also emphasized that this humanitarian effort is part of their campaign in peace and development program and commitment to achieve the objective of the Executive Order (EO) 70 which is to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in the countryside.

PLGU-Davao de Oro conducts site inspection in tourism establishments

Davao de Oro Province--- When several restrictions begin to ease including the tourism sector, it’s no surprise that people were itching to get out and breathe after months of lockdown, but safety remains a paramount concern.

Tourism-related establishments and destinations in Davao de Oro adhere to the DOT’s Memorandum Circular No. 2020-002 “Health and Safety Guidelines Governing the Accommodation Establishments under the New Normal” and AO No. 2020-002 “Guidelines on the Operations of Hotels and other Accommodation Establishments under a Community Quarantine.” Guidelines on minimum health protocol for dine-in restaurants and fast food establishments set by the DTI, DOLE and DOT were also followed.

With this, PLGU-Davao de Oro through the Provincial Tourism Office with the Department of Tourism conducted a site inspection in the municipalities of Pantukan and Mabini this week.

“We conducted the inspection to ensure the compliance for their observance to minimum health protocols like sanitation, social distancing measures, disinfection mechanism, and contact tracing efforts” said Christine Dompor, Senior Tourism Operations Officer of Ddo.

Six (6) tourism establishments in Pantukan with provisional accreditation and Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) were inspected and thirteen (13) non-accredited or without provisional permit establishments were also monitored. Meanwhile in Mabini, eight (8) establishments issued with CAO by the DOT XI were also inspected.

Dumpor also said that information materials for public information at entrances were distributed, as well as health declaration and contact tracing forms and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) directory for a close coordination during emergencies

According to the EO. NO. 0043.2020, accommodation and ancillary establishments under MGCQ may undertake normal operation provided that operations shall be 50% operational capacity, retain skeleton workforce which may or may not comprise in house staff and ensure compliance with issuance and guidelines on minimum public health standards.

German Scholars Take Interest in Dr. Jose Rizal’s “Noli Me Tangere”, “El Filibusterismo”

A growing number of German scholars have taken interest in studying Dr. Jose Rizal’s “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo” as the two novels provided the framework for a Master’s degree summer course entitled, “Jose Rizal y El Realismo Espanol,” which is being conducted from April to July 2020 as part of the Ruhr University in Bochum’s Philippine Studies program.

The course, which is attended online by students of Spanish literature under Professor Roger Friedlein, attempts to define the essence and strategies of realist writing in metropolitan Spain and the Philippines.

“Rizal is not only one of the key figures of the Philippine independence from Spain who has biographical links to Germany, but he is as well a poet, dramatist and essayist and one of the most interesting Spanish-speaking novelists of the 19th century,” said Professor Friedlein.

The professor added that through the course, German students can gain better appreciation of Rizal’s novels as a valuable source of knowledge in the study of colonial society. The course also allows them to keenly establish the connection and similarity in literary techniques between Spanish-speaking Latin America and the Philippines, which were both distant territories of Spain in the 19th century.

“I am glad that German scholars have taken interest in studying Rizal’s writings and see their enduring relevance. As we commemorate Dr. Jose Rizal’s 159th birth anniversary, the course is but a timely reminder that there will always be something in Rizal the people of today can emulate. There is always something in Rizal for everyone, including the Germans,” said Philippine Consul General to Frankfurt Evelyn D. Austria.

The two novels are being related to Spanish literature of Realism, which was the dominating literary aesthetic of Rizal’s time. Since they were originally written in Spanish, Rizal’s novels are being studied in comparison with Spanish novels like Doña Perfecta (1876), and Fortunata y Jacinta (1887) by Benito Pérez Galdós, one of the most influential Spanish realist novelists.

The course is the third seminar conducted at Ruhr University under its “Philippine Initiative” program, which is an interdisciplinary cooperation of researchers with an interest in topics related to the Philippines. Two other Philippine-related courses held recently were "Las Filipinas Hispánicas" (The Spanish Philippines) and "Berichte der Entdeckungsfahrten nach Südostasien" (Chronicles on the voyages of discovery to South-East Asia).

The program forms part of the recently-signed cultural agreement between the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt and the University. The agreement, which was sponsored by Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, aims to support academic and research activities on Philippine matters, and the creation of a center that would serve as a hub for Philippine-related projects in Southern Germany.

Einreise nach Deutschland: Fragen und Antworten

Reisewarnung, Risikogebiet, Quarantäneauflagen, Corona Hotspots: Für viele unserer Leser bleiben die Einreisebestimmungen für Deutschland undurchsichtig. Wir geben Antworten auf die wichtigsten Fragen.

Innerhalb der EU sind wieder Ferienflieger unterwegs und auch Touristen aus ausgewählten Drittstaaten können nach Deutschland einreisen. Jeder ist gut beraten, sich vor dem Koffer packen gründlich zu informieren. Was für die EU gilt, muss nicht für Deutschland gelten. Quarantäne-Auflagen werden nicht nur innerhalb der EU, sondern auch innerhalb Deutschlands unterschiedlich angewandt. Das Chaos an Verordnungen, Regeln und Ausnahmen von der Regel ist verwirrend. Das verunsichert.

Was mache ich, wenn...? Zur Zeit erreichen uns viele Fragen von unseren Lesern und den Nutzern unserer Social Media Kanäle. Wir sind den wichtigsten Fragen nachgegangen.

Frage 1
Die Liste der Länder, aus denen ich nach Deutschland einreisen darf, ändert sich immer wieder. Wo finde ich die aktuellsten Informationen?

Für die Einreisebestimmungen nach Deutschland ist prinzipiell das Bundesinnenministerium zuständig. Hier finden Sie alle aktuellen Informationen, auch auf Englisch. Zusätzlich sollten sich Reisende auf der Website des Auswärtigen Amts und der Bundespolizei über die aktuellen Reisebestimmungen informieren. Einen EU-weiten Überblick bietet Re-open Europe.

Bislang dürfen Bürger der Europäischen Union und der Schengen-Länder ohne Einschränkung nach Deutschland einreisen. Menschen aus Drittstaaten können das aktuell nur mit triftigem Grund. Allerdings sollen diese Reisehindernisse schrittweise abgebaut werden. Aufgrund der niedrigen Infektionszahlen will die EU Menschen aus 14 Drittstaaten wieder freie Einreise gewähren. Dies ist allerdings nur eine Empfehlung, die jeder EU-Staat umsetzen kann, wie er möchte. Deutschland gewährt aktuell Australien, Georgien, Kanada, Montenegro, Neuseeland, Thailand, Tunesien und Uruguay freie Einreise. Auch für China, Südkorea und Japan sollen die Beschränkungen fallen - allerdings erst, wenn Deutsche dort auch wieder frei einreisen dürfen.

Frage 2
Unter welchen Bedingungen kann ich aus einem Land kommen, für das in Deutschland ein Einreiseverbot gilt? Gibt es Ausnahmen und wenn ja, welche?

Die Liste der Ausnahmen vom Einreiseverbot nach Deutschland ist lang. Das Bundesinnenministerium hat hier Ausnahmen vom Einreiseverbot zusammengestellt, wer einen triftigen Grund hat und damit nach Deutschland kommen darf. Weitere Informationen gibt es ebenfalls bei der Bundespolizei.

Frage 3
Wie finde ich heraus, ob ich nach der Einreise aus einem Drittstaat in Quarantäne muss und wo ich diese zu verbringen habe? Kann ich eine Quarantäne mit einem negativen Corona-Test vermeiden?

Grundsätzlich müssen nur Menschen aus solchen Drittstaaten in Quarantäne, die das Robert-Koch-Institut als Risikogebiet einstuft. Wer sich dort in den letzten 14 Tagen vor der Einreise nach Deutschland aufgehalten hat, muss sich 14 Tage selbst isolieren. Die Liste dieser Länder wird laufend aktualisiert. Wer also plant, nach Deutschland zu kommen, sollte sich vor der Abreise unbedingt informieren, ob das Ausgangsland auf dieser Liste steht. Das gilt auch für Rückkehrer. Die konkreten Quarantäne-Auflagen werden von den Bundesländern erlassen. Welche Auflagen in welchem Bundesland gelten, erfahren Sie hier.

Quarantäne-Auflagen können Sie mit einem negativen Corona-Test oder einem Gesundheitszeugnis vermeiden. Beide dürfen allerdings nicht älter als 48 Stunden sein. Der Frankfurter Flughafen bietet einen Corona-Schnelltest (PCR-Test) nach der Ankunft an, Kosten: 139 Euro. Auch am Flughafen München kann man sich testen lassen - für 190 Euro. Durchreisende müssen übrigens nicht in Quarantäne, solange sie keine COVID-19-Symptome haben.

Frage 4

Wenn ich positiv getestet werde und in Quarantäne muss, wo verbringe ich diese und wer trägt die Kosten?

Das Ergebnis des Schnelltests am Flughafen wird Ihnen innerhalb weniger Stunden auf Ihr Smartphone geschickt. Sollte der Test positiv ausfallen, werden automatisch die Gesundheitsbehörden informiert und eine 14-tägige Quarantäne muss absolviert werden. Das zuständige Gesundheitsamt gibt Ihnen konkrete Instruktionen und Informationen. Die Einhaltung der Quarantänepflicht wird von den örtlichen Behörden kontrolliert. Verstöße können in einigen Bundesländern mit bis zu 10.000 Euro Strafe geahndet werden.

Auch nicht getestete Einreisende aus Risikogebieten müssen sich in jedem Fall auf direktem Weg in Quarantäne begeben, wenn vorhanden, in die eigene Wohnung oder eine andere geeignete Unterkunft. Was eine "geeignete Unterkunft" ist, entscheidet im Quarantänefall das örtliche Gesundheitsamt. Konkrete Vorgaben über die Art der Unterkunft gibt es weder auf Bundes- noch auf Länderebene.

Sollten Mehrkosten, zum Beispiel durch Hotelübernachtungen oder Arztbesuche anfallen, werden diese nicht vom deutschen Staat übernommen. Allerdings könnten der Reiseveranstalter und die Auslandskrankenversicherung einspringen, sofern diese Konditionen vorher vereinbart wurden. Ausländischen Staatsbürgern wird darüber hinaus empfohlen, ihre Botschaft in Deutschland über den Quarantäne-Aufenthalt zu informieren.

Frage 5
Ich will nach Deutschland einreisen: Wird differenziert zwischen dem Land, aus dem ich einreise und meiner Staatsbürgerschaft?

Ob Sie in diesem Fall nach Deutschland einreisen dürfen, hängt auch davon ab, ob Sie einen gültigen Aufenthaltstitel oder Visum für Deutschland bzw. den Schengen-Raum haben. In diesem Fall gilt: Wohnort bzw. langfristiger Aufenthaltsort geht vor Staatsangehörigkeit. Ein Beispiel: Ein Australier mit Wohnsitz in Nigeria will nach Deutschland reisen. Australien steht auf der "Positivliste" für eine Einreise nach Deutschland (siehe oben). Da dieser Australier jedoch in Nigeria wohnt, darf er nicht ohne dringenden Grund einreisen. Eine Brasilianerin, die ihren Wohnsitz in Belgien hat, allerdings schon. Übrigens: Visa werden bis auf weiteres für den Schengen-Raum nicht mehr vergeben - mit wenigen Ausnahmen in dringenden Fällen. 

Frage 6

Was passiert, wenn ich aus einem Land einreisen möchte, für das Deutschland eine Reisewarnung ausgesprochen hat? Ich bin Türke und lebe in der Türkei. Und Deutschland hat eine Reisewarnung für mein Land ausgesprochen. Darf ich nach Deutschland oder werde ich am Flughafen zurückgewiesen?

Eine generelle Reisewarnung für alle Länder außerhalb der EU und des Schengen-Raums gilt noch bis 31. August 2020. Diese Reisewarnung richtet sich allerdings an deutsche Staatsbürger und steht nicht in direktem Zusammenhang mit den Einreisebeschränkungen nach Deutschland.

Wer beispielsweise aus der Türkei nach Deutschland kommen möchte, braucht dafür einen triftigen Grund (siehe oben). Die Reisebegründung wird bereits vor dem Abflug von der Fluggesellschaft und am Abflughafen überprüft. Erst dann dürfen Sie fliegen. Trotzdem kann es vorkommen, dass Sie am Flughafen in Deutschland abgewiesen werden, sollten die Beamten dort Ihren Grund als nicht ausreichend bewerten oder sich kurzfristige Änderungen der Einreisebeschränkungen ergeben haben. Dann müssen Sie wieder zurückfliegen. Da die Fluggesellschaft die Kosten dafür übernehmen muss, wird sie jedoch genau überprüfen, ob Sie berechtigt sind, nach Deutschland zu reisen. 

Wichtig: Die Türkei befindet sich aktuell auf der Liste der Risikogebiete. Das bedeutet, dass sich Einreisende nach ihrer Ankunft einer 14-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen müssen. An einigen deutschen Flughäfen (siehe oben) kann ein Schnelltest gemacht werden. Sollte dieser negativ sein, muss keine Quarantäne absolviert werden.

Frage 7

Die einzelnen Länder der EU scheinen unterschiedlich mit der Einreise aus Drittstaaten umzugehen. Kann ich das nutzen? So kann ich vielleicht in Griechenland einreisen, aber nicht in Deutschland. Wenn ich es nach Griechenland geschafft habe, kann ich von dort nach Deutschland reisen?

Nicht zwangsläufig. Jedes EU- und Schengen-Land hat - trotz relativ einheitlicher Beschlüsse auf EU-Ebene - die Entscheidungshoheit über seine Einreisebeschränkungen. Sollten Sie also erfolgreich nach Griechenland eingereist sein, heißt das nicht, dass Ihnen automatisch in Deutschland freie Einreise gewährt wird - sofern Sie ihren Wohnort nicht im Schengen-Raum haben bzw. ein gültiges Visum besitzen. Informieren Sie sich deshalb vor einer geplanten Reise genau über die aktuellen Bestimmungen, die in Deutschland gelten. Kontaktieren Sie bei weiteren Fragen die zuständige Botschaft in Deutschland.

Frage 8
Ich bin in Deutschland und entwickle Corona-Symptome: Was tue ich?

Informieren Sie sofort das zuständige Gesundheitsamt. Bei stärkeren Beschwerden kontaktieren Sie zusätzlich einen Arzt oder die Corona-Hotline (Tel. 116 117). Sollten Sie schwere Symptome zeigen, gehen Sie ins Krankenhaus oder rufen Sie einen Krankenwagen. Informieren Sie sich vor Reiseantritt über die Kontaktdaten ihrer Botschaft in Deutschland, falls Sie diese im Krankheitsfall kontaktieren möchten.

Frage 9

Was passiert, wenn sich während meines Deutschland-Aufenthalts etwas an den Bestimmungen ändert? Zum Beispiel, die Rückkehr unmöglich wird, weil Deutschland oder mein Heimatland die Grenzen erneut schließen?

Treten Sie schnellstmöglich in Kontakt mit Ihrer Botschaft in Deutschland. Grundsätzlich sollte eine Ausreise aus Deutschland und Wiedereinreise in Ihr Heimatland möglich sein - sofern Sie nicht unter Quarantäne stehen oder aktiv infiziert sind. Wie Sie ausreisen können und wer die Kosten dafür übernimmt, kommt auch auf Ihre Buchungsbedingungen an. Fragen Sie den Reiseveranstalter oder die Fluggesellschaft, ob und wann eine Rückkehr möglich ist und wer für die möglichen Kosten aufkommt. Sorgen Sie vorsichtshalber vor Reiseantritt für einen finanziellen Puffer, sollten Mehrkosten entstehen. Denn: Sollte das Gebäude, die Stadt oder Region, in der Sie sich in Deutschland aufhalten, unter Quarantäne gestellt werden, müssen Sie dort bleiben bis die Behörden Ihnen erlauben, das Gebiet wieder zu verlassen.

Frage 10

Die Bundesländer in Deutschland haben unterschiedliche Corona-Regeln. Wie informiere ich mich am besten, wenn ich im Land reisen will?

Besonders wichtig sind die verschiedenen Regelungen zu den Quarantäneauflagen für Einreisende aus Drittstaaten, die als Risikogebiet ausgewiesen sind. Behalten Sie außerdem die Nachrichtenlage in Deutschland und ihrer Aufenthaltsregion im Auge. Es kann vorkommen, dass bestimmte Städte, Landkreise oder Regionen wegen zu hoher Neuinfektionen unter Quarantäne gestellt und auch innerhalb Deutschlands zum Risikogebiet erklärt werden. Die einzelnen Bundesländer können zudem einen "Lockdown" beschließen. Das kann Auswirkungen auf ihre Reise innerhalb Deutschlands sowie auf ihre Rück- oder Weiterreise ins Ausland haben. Wenden Sie sich deshalb bei Fragen an die lokalen Behörden sowie an die Botschaft Ihres Landes in Deutschland.

Reisewarnung des Auswärtigen Amtes per 8. Juli 2020

Aufgrund der Ausbreitung von COVID-19 und damit einhergehenden Einschränkungen im internationalen Luft- und Reiseverkehr sowie Beeinträchtigungen des öffentlichen Lebens wird vor nicht notwendigen, touristischen Reisen nach in die Philippinen weiterhin gewarnt.

Bis auf weiteres ist Ausländern die Einreise in die Philippinen landesweit verboten; erteilte philippinische Einreise-Visa wurden für ungültig erklärt. Ausnahmen gelten ausschließlich für Flugzeugbesatzungen, für Familienangehörige (Ehegatten, Kinder) von philippinischen Staatsangehörigen sowie für Diplomaten und Angehörige internationaler Organisationen, die in den Philippinen akkreditiert sind. Diese unterliegen jedoch nach Einreise einer 14-tägigen Quarantänepflicht.

Eine Ausreise ist Ausländern, die sich im Land aufhalten, jederzeit erlaubt. Die zwischenzeitlich unterbrochenen regulären Verkehrsverbindungen zwischen den Inseln des Landes werden seit dem 3. Juni 2020 teilweise wieder aufgenommen. Die Regierung der Philippinen hat die seit Mitte März 2020 geltenden, landesweiten Quarantänemaßnahmen seit zuletzt 6. Juli 2020 mit der „IATF resolution No. 52“ geändert. Es bestehen weiterhin umfangreiche Einschränkungen für die Versorgung und für die Bewegungsfreiheit. Es gelten variable nächtliche Ausgangssperren im Zeitraum von 20 Uhr bis 5 Uhr.

• Wenn Sie zurzeit zu Gast in den Philippinen sind, prüfen Sie Rückreiseoptionen und nutzen Sie vorhandene Ausreisemöglichkeiten. Die Reisemöglichkeiten aus den Philippinen sind zurzeit beschränkt, jedoch werden weiterhin einige Verbindungen angeboten, die Ausländer nutzen können.

Career Doubts?

A career is a rapid motion. A course of action. Professional conduct in life. Progress through life. What is a careerist? One, who rushes widely and makes his advancement his or her aim in life. In times of Covid-19, you may not think about your career. Sure. But somehow life goes on, and career doubts rise again.

When career doubts won't go away? What if you're not happy with your job? Is it possible that you're in the wrong entirely?

My parents always (!) wanted me to become a banker. So far so good. Why not? Maybe I would have been more (or very happy) in my job. Or not?

The pressure "to be" someone starts in life early indeed. Not only my parents, but also peers, and teachers have begun to exert influence. Yes, I even didn't know where my inclinations lie.

Being a doctor or a lawyer? Yes, I was interested in law and medicine during that time.

So, it's no wonder, he said, that so many people are dissatisfied with their jobs. Me too. Yes, count me in. Mass-communication has been my subject, as well as publishing house management. So far so good.

The work you do and the skills your opportunity requires and the value of your work are more vital to fulfillment. Paperwork or not... Do you think you find a better career fit? Go ahead - but don't expect that this is your life's career!

I waited for my "better calling" experiencing many better and wonderful moments in life. I also experienced that what I did had been very much compatible with me, as what my parents thought.

DAVAO CITY RATIONS GROCERY PACKS TO BARANGAY 23-C

The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSSDO) has delivered 6,266 grocery packs to targetted beneficiaries in Barangay 23-C which is under a 14-day hard lock down since Saturday, July 4, 2020, to control the spread of coronavirus.

CSWDO rolled out the food rationing to Barangay 23-C which is assured of continued assistance from the city government until the lock down measures are lifted.Maria Luisa Bermudo, the Chief of the CSWDO, said her office is targetting two cycles of food packs distribution in the barangay which has a total population of 18,000.

“We have distributed grocery packs to the families in all seven puroks of the barangay containing 15 kilos of rice and assorted canned goods, good for 10 days consumption for the residents,” Bermudo said. Aside from food intervention, the CSWDO is conducting psycho-social support to the affected individuals through their support hotline.Some residents of Barangay 23-C are also enrolled in Work for Davao, the emergency employment program of the city government. Currently, there are 397 residents enrolled in the program.Also, around 383 beneficiaries are recommended for the Eskwela Davao program, the educational assistance program offered for children whose families have lost or reduced their income due to Covid-19. 

Meanwhile, City Health Officer Josephine Villafuerte said that all positive cases in the barangay are in isolation at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and their close contacts traced are isolated in their homes.She assured that health workers assigned in the barangay will continue to provide health services in the areas. Medicines and medical supplies will also be made available at the health centers. 

While addressing Covid-19 situation in the barangay, CHO still holds regular health activities such as nutrition, immunization, tuberculosis, tropical disease control, and the ‘Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio.’Barangay 23-C was placed under a hard lockdown after 88 residents tested positive of the coronavirus. The barangay is considered the city’s “hot spot” and very high-risk area of the coronavirus. CIO

Government helps people’s organizations receive livelihood assistance

Davao de Oro --- A total of seventy-one people’s organizations (POs) received certificates and tool kits in a ceremony held in Barangay Tibagon, Pantukan, Davao de Oro on June 27, 2020.

Two tailoring machine, native bags, and food packs were given to the POs who completed their 5-day Sapang Lubog Livelihood Skills Training Program on massage therapy, tailoring, nail care, and welding services.

This made possible with the help of Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pantukan in partnership with Municipal Council of Women, Municipal Community Teaching and Employment Coordinator and in collaboration of 71st Infantry Battalion. 

All POs are members of Sapang Lubog Women's Association (SALUWA) and Asosasyon sa Nagkahiusang Grupo sa Kadafa, Sapang Lubog, Sapang Tin-aw Tibagon Integrated Motorist (ANGKASS-TIM) that was organized by Community Development Team (CDT).

The assistance is one of the programs of government to sustain livelihood development in the grassroot communities in the province.

Meanwhile, twenty-one members of Kaibigan People's Advocacy for Collaboration and Empowerment (KPEACE) received food packs and six sacks of feeds for their pigs.

The Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) of Davao de Oro, is still aims to achieve inclusive and sustainable peace, of carefully getting to the root causes of conflicts in the whole province.

Oplan Pagbabago is anchored on President Rodrigo Duterte's Executive Order Number (EO) 70 which aims to create a national peace framework and institutionalize the whole-of-nation approach.

50 IPs receive skills training from TESDA

Davao de Oro --- Fifty members of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in the province received free skills training from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to uplift their lives and to be equipped with the necessary skills that would qualify them for work.

The recent training was held in Bryg. Upper Ulip, Monkayo, Davao de Oro.

TESDA's objective of providing skills training program to all sectors is anchored on their TESDA Abot Lahat program.

Twenty-five IPs recipients for Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) while twenty-five IPs granted for Carpentry under Community-Based Training.

The program was in partnership with Davao National Agricultural School (DNAS) of Montevista and Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center of Davao City which provided the skills training.

An orientation on social distancing, wearing face masks, and other health protocols were implemented to edify IPs on how to protect themselves from dreadful effects brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

More training awaits and to be implemented in Upper Ulip including Masonry and Construction Painting to complete the construction of the AGAK Center as a multi-purpose hall.

Meanwhile, forty-eight Rice Extension Services Program (RESP) scholars who took Modified Farmers Field School on Modernized Production of High Quality Inbred Rice and Seed Certification received their training allowances last month. MORE LIQUOR BAN VIOLATORS ARRESTED

The city government of Davao has shown that it is serious in the implementation of the liquor ban as the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and Vices Regulation Unit (VRU) continue to apprehend more violators.From March to June, the two offices apprehended a total of 196 individuals for selling and drinking alcoholic beverages.

DCPO head Police Colonel Kirby John Kraft said that concerned citizens, who reported on violators, also played a role in the arrests.“We received tips from various Davawenyos that led to the arrest of these individuals. We actually encourage more Dabawenyos to inform us if they see people violating the liquor ban,” Kraft said.

VRU head Dr. Ashley Lopez said that they have been monitoring online sellers of alcoholic beverages, who have proliferated when the liquor ban due to the pandemic was implemented on April 6.

“Naa lang gihapon gahig ulo labi na mga alcoholics who desperately find ways to drink to satisfy their cravings,” Lopez said.Lopez and Kraft issued warning anew against other possible violators that they too will be arrested. CIO

DAVAO CITY TO IMPLEMENT LOCKDOWNS, BARANGAY ECQ DURING MGCQ

Davao City will still implement a barangay Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) or house, street, purok, and compound lockdowns during the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“This is to control the transmission especially in identified very high risk and high-risk areas,” Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said in a live interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday.If lockdowns and ECQ happen in specific areas, Mayor Sara said, offices and establishment owners must be considerate to their employees that will be affected by these control measures.

“There will be employees nga dili gyud makasulod not because naa silay sakit but because nasulod sila sa isa ka lockdown. So maghangyo ta mga offices and establishment employers to take into consideration kaning mga ing-ani nga control measures (There will be employees that cannot report to work not because they are sick but because they were locked down. So we are appealing to offices and establishment employers to take into consideration these control measures),” she said.

Lockdowns are implemented in an area with an alarming number of positive Covid-19 cases. When an area is in lockdown, residents are required to 14-day home quarantine. Affected residents will be tested on the 14th day and those who are positive will be transferred to an isolation facility. The individuals who are locked down are those that have exposure to people positive of Covid-19 or have been included in the contact tracing. The city government provides ration and psychosocial support for residents under lockdown. CIO

Davao de Oro to implement green alternatives, bans single-use plastics

Davao de Oro Province---Vital for a balanced harmony of progress and development is a green and healthy environment free from pollution.

Environmental problems such as plastic plagues, blocked waterways and infertile soil were associated with single-used plastics.  Plastic also contributes to poisoning, health problems in humans, wildlife damage and uses millions of dollars for clean-up cost in coastal areas.

It takes about a thousand years for a single plastic to fully decompose, much longer than a life-span of an average human being, obviously non-biodegradable.

With this, setting an example as a good steward, PLGU-Davao de Oro, through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice-Governor Maria Carmen Zamora passed the Provincial Ordinance No. 61-2020 “AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF SINGLE-USE PLASTIC PRODUCTS, EXPANDED POLYSTERENE, STYROFOAM AND OTHER SIMILAR MATERIALS IN ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICES, AGENCIES AND INSTRUMENTALITIES IN THE PROVINCE OF DAVAO DE ORO AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF”

The province now prohibits the use of plastics including expanded polystyrene, styrofoam products during meetings, hearings, seminars, and other government activities.

Employees will now practice the green alternatives such as BYOB (Bring Your Own Baonan), BYOT (Bring Your Own Tumbler) and BOB (Bring your Own Eco-bag), reducing the generation of plastic waste in government premises.

Violators for this ordinance will be dealt with accordingly. Employees and Food suppliers/Caterers violating the ordinance will undergo a warning and attendance to Green Alternative Orientation Seminar for the 1st Offense. Subsequent offenses for employees is a fine of Php 300.00

Second offense for Food Suppliers/Caterers will be fined amounting to Php 3,000 and Php 5, 000 for the subsequent offense and subject the same to be blacklisted from conducting business in any government office/agency in the province.

Medical equipment used by our hospitals, laboratory and analysis services and front-liners such as gloves, plastic vials, sample bags, intravenous fluids or IV drips, plastic syringes and the like which follow the protocol and standards under the WHO (World Health Organization) and DOH (Department of Health) were given exemption. Davao de Oro Allots 7 Million Pesos to Support Schools on “Blended Learning”

NABUNTURAN, DAVAO DE ORO

 – The Provincial Local Schools Board (PLSB) of Davao de Oro led by Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, allotted a total amount of ₱7,044,441.12 from its Special Education Fund (SEF) to the Department of Education-Davao de Oro (DepEd-DdO) to be used on its coming shift to the “blended learning” approach. This is in accordance with the directive from President Duterte that no face to face interactions shall take place on the opening of classes on August 24, 2020. 

The aforementioned amount will be used to buy essential tools for public schools such as external drives, WiFi modems, video cameras, transistor radios, learning materials, and workbooks for school levels kindergarten to senior high school.

The Schools Division of Davao de Oro through Dr. Eufemia Gamutin, its superintendent and concurrent Vice Chair of the PLSB, proposed these items to the school board. 

In a recent meeting with the eleven municipal mayors of Davao de Oro, Governor Tyron Uy encouraged everyone to support DepEd’s shift to blended learning. The province’s eleven mayors enthusiastically supported him in response. 

The governor further encouraged individuals and groups to join Brigada Eskwela. In his message, he quipped that this year’s opening of classes fall under extra-ordinary times, and that helping our schools brave through this crisis is of utmost importance. 

“We are all duty-bound to support our students. As they always say, it takes a village to educate a child. Let us be that village”. 

Earlier, the governor signed a partnership agreement with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to install free WiFi stations in the province’s schools. The provincial government’s official radio station will also be allotting an hour from Mondays to Fridays. Through Vice Governor Maricar Zamora’s initiative, Z Radio will also be allotting four hours a day to help DepEd’s alternative modes of instruction. 

Ex-Wirecard-Vorstand Marsalek will sich nicht stellen

Wegen des Bilanzskandals beim Finanzdienstleister Wirecard werden die bisherigen Chefs juristisch verfolgt. Jan Marsalek ist Medienberichten zufolge im Ausland untergetaucht. Die Aktie indes hebt ab.

Der langjährige Vorstand der Wirecard AG, Jan Marsalek, wird sich offenbar nicht von deutschen Staatsanwälten vernehmen lassen. Das erfuhren die Sender WDR und NDR sowie die "Süddeutsche Zeitung" aus Kreisen der Prozessbeteiligten. Marsalek hatte über seinen Anwalt in der vergangenen Woche zunächst erklären lassen, er werde nach München kommen, um bei der Justiz vorstellig zu werden. Dies solle nun doch nicht stattfinden. Weder die Staatsanwaltschaft München noch sein Verteidiger wollten sich demnach auf Anfrage äußern.

Die Staatsanwaltschaft hatte in der vergangenen Woche einen Haftbefehl gegen den 40-jährigen Österreicher erwirkt. Marsalek werden verschiedene mögliche Delikte im Zusammenhang mit dem Bilanzskandal des Unternehmens vorgeworfen.

1,9 Milliarden Euro verschwunden

Der Zahlungsdienstleister Wirecard hatte am Montag vergangener Woche mitgeteilt, dass ein Vermögen in Höhe von 1,9 Milliarden in Euro auf Konten des Unternehmens bei zwei philippinischen Banken Asien gar nicht existiere. Die philippinische Zentralbank erklärte, dass kein Geld von Wirecard in das Finanzsystem des Landes gelangt sei. Der Börsenkurs des DAX-Unternehmens stürzte ab. Am Donnerstag beantragte die Wirecard AG, die zu den Dax-Konzernen gehörte, ein Insolvenzverfahren.

Ex-Vorstand Marsalek: Nach China geflüchtet?

Marsalek hatte ein Jahrzehnt lang im Vorstand das operative Geschäft geleitet. Dabei entstand ein weltweit verzweigtes Konstrukt aus Tochter- und Partnerfirmen. Viele Umsätze und Gewinne, die in diesem Netzwerk angefallen sein sollen, hat es offenbar nie gegeben.

Wo ist Marsalek?

Marsalek soll sich zuletzt auf den Philippinen aufgehalten haben, anschließend verlor sich seine Spur. Der per Haftbefehl gesuchte Österreicher hält sich möglicherweise in China auf. Der philippinische Justizminister Menardo Guevarra teilte mit, Marsalek sei vergangene Woche auf die Philippinen eingereist und habe das Land kurz darauf Richtung China wieder verlassen. Sein langjähriger Förderer, der Wirecard-Vorstandschef Markus Braun, hatte sich am Montag vergangener Woche der Justiz gestellt.

Philippinische Behörde untersucht drei Firmen

Derweil kündigte die philippinische Anti-Geldwäsche-Behörde AMLC an, im Fall Wirecard möglichst rasch für Aufklärung sorgen zu wollen. Man werde eine "schnelle und gründliche" Untersuchung starten, um weitere involvierte Gesellschaften und Personen zu finden, sagte Mel Georgie Racela vom AMLC der Nachrichtenagentur Reuters. Genau ansehen werde sich die Behörde vor allem drei Unternehmen, die im Zusammenhang mit dem deutschen Zahlungsabwickler stünden: Centurion Online Payment International, Pay Easy Solutions und Cone Pay International.

Von den Firmen war zunächst keine Stellungnahme zu erhalten. Pay Easy antwortete nicht auf E-Mails, Telefone waren abgeschaltet. Die Telefonnummer von Centurion war außer Betrieb. Auch Cone Pay war für einen Kommentar nicht erreichbar, da Kontaktdaten auf der Internetseite fehlten und ein sonst in der Branche üblicher Jahresbericht bei der Regulierungsbehörde nicht verfügbar war. Der philippinische Zentralbankchef Benjamin Diokno, der der Geldwäschebehörde vorsteht, wollte sich nicht dazu äußern, welche Firmen und Personen noch untersucht würden.

Der von Wirecard offenbar als Treuhänder eingesetzte philippinische Anwalt Mark Tolentino wies eine Verantwortung für die Pleite von Wirecard von sich. Er habe sechs Bankkonten für eine in Singapur ansässige Firma eröffnet, aber bis zum Bekanntwerden des Skandals nicht gewusst, dass sie für Wirecard waren, sagte er der Agentur Reuters. Auf den Konten sei nie mehr als ein paar Hundert Euro gewesen. "Jeder zeigt mit dem Finger auf mich, und stellt mich als Dieb des fehlenden Geldes dar", sagte er. "Ich möchte meinen Namen reinwaschen. Ich bin ein Opfer von Identitätsdiebstahl und gefälschten Nachrichten."

Erneute Kurskapriolen bei Wirecard

Trotz der jüngsten Turbulenzen stach das angeschlagene Unternehmen am Montag am deutschen Aktienmarkt mit einem Plus von zeitweise rund mehr als 200 Prozent heraus, allerdings bei einem niedrigen Ausgangspreis. Das ist der größte Kurssprung eines Dax-Wertes überhaupt. Die Papiere seien ein Spielball spekulativ orientierter Anleger, sagte ein Händler. Die "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" berichtet, Finanzinvestoren und der Konkurrent Worldline seien an Teilen des insolventen Zahlungsabwicklers interessiert. Worldline-Aktien legten an der Börse in Paris um 1,5 Prozent zu.

200 endemic trees planted in DdO's celebration of “Arbor Day”

Davao de Oro Province--- The 25th of June marks the celebration of the “Arbor Day”, a special day dedicated to tree planting, mitigating the effects of climate change, pollution and calamities due to the dwindling number of trees in terrestrial planes.

With this, the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro spearheaded by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in partnership with DENR planted more or less 200 seedling of endemic species of trees such as Molave, Almon, Bagtikan, Bayug and Dau at one of the sites of “Oplan Liwanag” center in barangay Libasan, Nabunturan Davao de Oro.

Together with the employees of PLGU-Davao de Oro, Municipal-LGU employees, partners in the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Libasan Cooperative participated in the activity.

“Dili lang kutob sa pagpananom ug kahoy ang atuang ginahimo, kundili atua pod kining alimahan, pinaka-main nga purpose niini mao ang pag hatag ug importance sa atung environment kay ang kinaiyahan kung walay kahoy maglisod pod kitang mga katawhan.” said Eugene Alaba, PENRO-DDO Department Head.

The “Oplan Liwanag” center was chosen as the site planted with the endemic trees to ensure its growth and survival providing comfort for our brothers and sisters undergoing healing for a life anew.

SONGS FROM THE HEART

In good and in bad times - I used to read the bible. Here at the very center are songs, rising up like a tune from the heart. Cries from the heart - songs for sorrow as well as joy. I am talking about the psalms. They capture the innermost thoughts and prayers of the Old Testament people - and they will speak directly to our needs.

For every motion and mood, you can find a psalm to match. The psalms wrestle with the deepest sorrow and ask God the hardest questions about suffering and injustice. Their voice is refreshingly spontaneous. They do not tip flowery compliments toward God: they cry out to Him, or shout for joy before Him.

In almost every psalm you find the presence of God, not as a philosophical principle, but as an active, strong, and loving ruler. Since reading the psalms, I found out that God really makes many differences in my life.

How did the psalms come together? They seem to have been compiled as hymnbooks for use in temple worship. Some psalms were written from an individual's experiences, but were adapted for congregational use. Directions for musicians were added.

Living by faith is not always easy - especially in these times of the "new normality". These powerful poems of worship and praise offer no magical formulas to make troubles go away. Yet, while real life questions, struggles, and discouragements have strong voices in these poems, more powerful still is the voice of joy and security in strength.

The best way to read the psalms is also the most common way: to make these ancient prayers your own and speak them directly to God. So many of the poems catch deep human feelings that you can't help being moved by them.

There are so many psalms. It is indeed the longest book of the bible. The richest lessons from psalms may come from difficult poems you must read again and again until you understand them. They merely ask time and close attention. My suggestion: read and reread them. They grow richer with careful study.
