A total of 47 cities and municipalities were declared under calamity status as enhanced habagat and tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay affected 4.34 million people in 3,768 barangays nationwide. There were 21 people who died, 17 were injured, and three remained missing while flooding was reported in 450 area, rendering 165 roads and 13 bridges impassable. Read more | ||
Meanwhile, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Dr. John Manalo said the southwest monsoon or “habagat” remains active over western Luzon, as strong southwesterly winds continue to bring moisture toward the country. Read more |
