Leptospirosis cases reach 5,486; DOH warns numbers may rise

The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 5,486 leptospirosis cases nationwide this year and warned that infections may continue to rise in the next two weeks following recent rains and flooding. Read more

Meanwhile, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responded to San Lazaro Hospital’s call for additional manpower amid surge in leptospirosis cases, deploying its Medical Corps Volunteers to help augment the hospital’s healthcare workforce as it manages the surge. Read more
