A five-minute minor phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the Main Crater of Taal Volcano on Thursday evening, Oct. 8, producing a dark gray plume that rose 4,000 meters above the crater. Phivolcs warned that thin ashfall may affect the southwestern lakeshore towns of Agoncillo, Lemery, San Nicolas, Taal, and Batangas, as well as adjacent areas. Read more |
