Southeast Asia's Oldest National Airlines

 Philippine Airlines claims the title of the oldest, having been founded in 1941. Following closely behind are Malaysia Airlines (1947) and Myanmar Airlines (1948).
Garuda Indonesia, the flag carrier of Indonesia, was established in 1949. Vietnam Airlines joined the ranks in 1956, with Thai Airways following in 1960.
The later part of the 20th century saw the founding of Singapore Airlines in 1972, Royal Brunei in 1974, and Lao Airlines in 1976. Cambodia Angkor Air is the most recent entry on this list, having been founded in 2009.
