A total of 19 Philippine companies made it to TIME and Statista’s Asia-Pacific’s Best Employers of 2027 list, which covers 500 top multinational and large-scale corporate groups operating across 15 Asia-Pacific countries.
The latest list puts three local companies in the top 50: Unilab Inc. at 24th, Ayala Corp. at 32nd, and Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) at 44th, followed by San Miguel Corp. (SMC) at 55th and Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) at 89th.
Others on the list are Del Monte Philippines Inc. at 105th, BDO Unibank Inc. at 164th, Philippine Airlines (PAL) at 186th, Aboitiz Power Corp. (AboitizPower) at 196th, SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) at 206th, Solaire Resort & Casino at 222nd, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) at 260th, JG Summit Holdings Inc. at 262nd, Century Pacific Group at 279th, RealPage Philippines at 280th, Megaworld Corp. at 304th, PLDT at 327th, ABS-CBN Corp. at 338th, and Max’s Group at 426th.
On SMIC’s inclusion on the list, the Sy-led firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederic C. DyBuncio said, “Our people are central to SM’s continued growth. We want employees to feel respected, have the support to do their best work and find opportunities to build their careers here. This recognition encourages us to keep listening to improve the experience of working at SM.”
Megaworld said its first-ever inclusion as the only Philippine real estate company on the list marks another major milestone in its commitment to workplace excellence and employee development.
It noted that this recognition places Megaworld among distinguished employers across the region and reinforces its reputation as an employer of choice in the country.
“We thank TIME Magazine for this recognition, which affirms that investing in our people is one of the most important investments we can make as a company,” said Megaworld President and CEO Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso.
She added, “Our people challenge us to do more, not only to provide meaningful career opportunities, but also to create an environment where every employee, across all our offices, hotels, and townships in the Philippines, can grow, thrive, and succeed. Our progress as a company must always go hand in hand with the progress of our people.”
The milestone follows the Megaworld’s latest inclusion in Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For-Southeast Asia for the second consecutive year.
Developed in partnership with global data and research firm Statista, the TIME Magazine recognition for Megaworld highlights the company’s efforts to strengthen its workplace culture and provide an environment where employees can contribute meaningfully and pursue long-term career growth.
The Asia-Pacific’s Best Employers list highlights multinational organizations in the region as great places to work. The selection is based on independent surveys and over 1.4 million evaluations completed anonymously by more than 80,000 employees from across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
