Bela Padilla's departure from "Blood vs. Duty" has become official, but for many viewers, the biggest question isn't how her character died. It's whether her exit has anything to do with the controversy that has followed the actress for weeks.
Padilla's character, Agent Lara Angeles, met her end in the latest episode after being fatally shot by Felix, played by Baron Geisler. The dramatic scene also marked the actress' final appearance in the action series, bringing one of its major story arcs to a close.
On its own, the exit could easily be seen as a creative decision. But it comes after weeks of online speculation fueled by claims that Padilla had allegedly become difficult to work with during production.
The rumors first surfaced in May after entertainment vlogger Ogie Diaz, citing an unnamed source, claimed there had been concerns behind the scenes about the actress' conduct on set. The allegations quickly spread across social media, prompting debate among fans and entertainment observers.
Neither Padilla nor the show's producers publicly confirmed the claims, and no evidence has emerged to substantiate the allegations.
It is as such that her character's sudden exit has once again become a talking point online, with some netizens wondering whether the two developments are connected.
The production, however, appears to be sending a different message.
