Meralco raises July power rates; fuel price hikes to follow

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) announced on Friday, July 10, an upward adjustment in its generation charges for July, raising electricity rates by ₱0.3428 per kilowatt-hour, or ₱14.8261 per kilowatt-hour for a typical household. Retail fuel prices are projected to rise significantly, driven by a breakdown in security and diplomatic talks between the United States (US) and Iran. Read more
