Judging from his recent exploits, Miggy Cabel Moreno seems on his way to becoming one of Mindanao’s culture heroes in the years to come. And why wouldn’t he? Moreno has long advocated for regional Filipino cuisine, particularly Southern Mindanao food, since opening Palm Grill in 2017 and Cabel in 2022.
Moreno, however, isn’t just winning customers over with his causes; both his warm heart and beloved Michelin-approved food are convincingly effective in delivering his intent. Whether at his restaurants or at his limited-time collaborations, Moreno has a hand in the joyous discovery of Filipino cuisine beyond the usual adobo or sinigang.
